It’s Tuesday…not a lot going on here right now…

I have to vent about that David Blaine person doing that water stunt…I’m glad it’s over because I am sick to death of hearing about it….blah….

Umm…ok so I finished the book 1984 by George Orwell…not a recommended read…I think it is supposed to be a “classic”…well I can’t say not a recommended read because it does make you think about society and media and truth…but it is definitely not a “feel good” read…it was written around the rise of communism so there was this whole public paranoia about big government and losing freedom…if ya ask me, there isn’t enough of that paranoia today…freedom is something that we take so for granted…if we were truly threatened with it being taken away, how would we react? Ok…so I guess I talked myself into given it a couple of thumbs up because it is a thinker type book…but still not a feel good read….

So I decided to raid the wonderful stash of classics that Judge brought in…since I went to a Christian high school and we had this funky workbook curriculum, I did not get to read some of the standards that people have to read in high school English class…like Jane Eyre…so that is what I’m reading now…I’m only several pages into it….so no review as of yet….I am also having a little de ja vu like maybe I actually have read it or portions of it at some point in my life but I honestly cannot remember ever having read the book.

So…flea market find of the week…a federal style bed…headboard and footboard for $150…solid cherry wood nonetheless! When we got first got married almost 10 years ago we first used Buford’s king size waterbed complete with late 70’s style headboard…totally not my style…a few years into the marriage we bought a king size mattress set…but have never owned a headboard for it….so we are finally adults! Lol…so we brought it home last night and put it together…and viola….for some reason it’s like 2 inches short so we couldn’t put our mattress in it…grrr….so we did away with the footboard for now and just bolted the headboard to our existing metal frame…Buford is going to do some cutting and welding on the other frame to make it fit….but the headboard looks fabulous! I’m so happy! Lol…I really feel like we have a grown up bedroom now! Lol…I’m a nerd…I’ll have to take a picture when I make my bed (I’m not keen on making the bed lol) plus now it seems like I should have a new comforter…I did get a new jean bed skirt a couple of months ago on clearance so when we put the bed back together I threw that on…it looks prettiful…I’m all geeked about it…

So that’s really about it…I found a calendar/clock script to add to my journal but for some reason it messes up the top thingy so…blah…but anyway…yada yada yada…I should try n get some work done….you chickies have a wonderful day!
