Well…AI was just not the same last night…I really hope Taylor wins now…because I’ve said all along that I wanted Chris and Taylor in the top two and then I didn’t care who won…so now that Chris is really gone (he wasn’t on the show last night so I guess that makes it official..blah)…I hope it’s Taylor who wins…Elliott did ok last night but Kat was on her game…except for her first song which was horrid….I think she forgot a lot of words…or it was a very bad arrangement….but the Over the Rainbow was elegant and wonderful…
still no one has been able to duplicate the absolutely magical moment when Fantasia sang Summertime…have you heard her lately though (Fantasia I mean)? She does quite a lot of squawking…she went from magical to noise….so it’s always interesting to see how the AI winners translate to real life…husband and the guys at his work think that out of the three left, Kat is the most “marketable”…
we’ll see….it was just glaringly obvious to me last night that the wrong person went last week and the show was pretty dull because of it….we went to a party and I almost didn’t bother taping it…but I knew mom would appreciate it if I taped it for her…so I did and husband and I watched it when we got home…
we went to our first election party last night…it was neat to meet neighbors and people from around our county….and the person running for the office is our neighbor and he won! So that made for a better party! Lol….we stayed until the guest of honor arrived so that we could congratulate him…he and his wife had been waiting up at the courthouse until the final results were announced and once they learned they won they headed home with a load of beer! Lol…and that’s about the time we had to leave…because husband expires at 9:00…his hair starts to stand on end and his eyes get watery and he turns into a pumpkin…well not the pumpkin part but the rest is true….he’s very much an early to bed early to rise type person…I’m total opposite…
but I digress…it was definitely a happier party once we all learned that he’d won…see it was a primary but it was between two guys of the same party and no opposition from the other party so yesterday was the deciding vote…and at the party we actually felt a little awkward and out of our element because we really didn’t know anyone except for the guy and his wife who invited us….and they didn’t show up til way later….but when we first got there, husband recognized this one lady from our local bank and she turned out to know everyone so she introduced us to a lot of people…so we had a good time!
so I’ve mentioned before that husband and I are political nerds...very early in our marriage we established a routine on voting day…we have a date night….we go vote together when we both get home from work and then go out to dinner…now since husband has started traveling so much in recent years, he has been out of town on a lot of election days so he’s had to absentee vote and I’d have to go by myself on voting day….so last night was the first time in a long long time that we got to exercise our voting day date night…lol…and even though we hadn’t really talked about it until last night at dinner, we’d both been looking forward to “voting date night” all day long…so that was nice too…
well I guess that’s about all I have to type about….Happy Hump Day!

That's really sweet about your voting date night and how you both were looking forward to it! Sometimes it's the little things that keep a marriage alive.
I just don't think that Kat is a performer. I think she has a good voice and she tries really hard, but she oversings songs and she just doesn't connect with people. I thought Taylor was great last night and I'm with you on wanting him to win now that Chris is out of the competition. It will be interesting tonight...
I was also hoping that somehow we would see Chris last night on AI too!!!! Oh well...I've got to get a life!! LOL! (you do too)
What a neat thing you and Buford have on voting day! That would be neat to continue that tradition forever!!!!! That is soooo sweet!
Lots of Love!
