The blog ate my post....or something like that...lol

Well grr grr grr…I posted yesterday but the post is nowhere to be found…stinking blog monster ate my post! Dangit…

Anyways…umm..it wasn’t a terribly exciting post…I had a quiet weekend…which was nice cuz last weekend was so busy…umm…

**********BB RAMBLING WARNING**********
IF YA DON’T WATCH BB- SKIP TO MY LOU MY DARLIN
NO SPOILERS THOUGH!

So umm…James is perturbing me with his attitude man….he’s all mad at Janie because she didn’t go after Chilltown but he was HOH the week before and he didn’t either!…grr…I think he was just looking for an excuse to break off from the Sovereigns – which actually is smart for him because he was the fourth wheel of that alliance anyways but still..ugh his attitude…I hate that Dani is HOH and although I have been reading the live feeds, I won’t be a spoiler…so I’ll shoosh…but I’m very much a S6 fan so I was bummed that they didn’t get HOH again…and that’s all I want to say about that….

**********************END BB RAMBLES************************

What else has been going on…umm in the gardening report…we’ve been eating corn, tomatoes, green peppers, beans, and husband eats banana peppers from our garden…yum! I need to take a picture cuz it actually is the prettiest garden we’ve ever had…we’re both getting better at weeding and stuff…I made salsa last night and canned 6 pints of salsa! I cheated cuz I found a mix so all I had to add was tomatoes…and I have gathered the ingredients to make pickled peppers…but I need a few more peppers for the recipe…that will be weird to make those because it’s not something that I will eat or even taste…lol…but banana pepper plants are very very productive so I was trying to figure out something to do with all those peppers! My eggplant has one eggplant on it…and I can see why they are called eggplant because it totally looks like an egg growing on a plant…they start out white…who knew! Lol…last year judge gave me a few eggplants from her garden, and I made eggplant parmesan with spaghetti (which is a staple in our home lol)…yum! So hopefully, I’ll have my own eggplant to do that with eventually…lol…

So Saturday night for supper I sautéed some tomatoes and squash from the garden with a little rice and these big thick pork chops and not to brag…but I’m a good cook man! I think that was one of the best dinners I have ever made…the pork chops were perfect and the veggies were dynamite! Lol I think I’m discovering that I really like to cook too…

Oh Braintwin…water the heck out of your tomatoes and they will start turning red…two weeks ago we had all these green tomatoes…big fat tomatoes but they weren’t turning red…so last week husband and I started this watering schedule everyday…turning the sprinkler on at least an hour or so every day and it’s helped immensely…we have red tomatoes coming out our ears! Lol…however, I have no advice about your zucchini because I’ve never attempted to grow that…but I think you need to share your salsa recipe and bring some to reunion! I was telling husband last night about your garden and how proud I am of you for that and also (and more so) about the whole VBS thing…so cool!!

I got my copy of the book Up to 20 last Wednesday and husband and I have been reading it to each other! We discovered that actually most of the book is about their life at our house…the land belonged to the family and they had the house built for them, we are speculating, sometime around 1880 or earlier…we really need to do a deed search although, since they already owned the farm when they had the house built, I’m not sure a deed search would list the house until they sold it in 1898.

At any rate, the book is very well written and the lady who was a little girl when she lived in our house is a hoot! She (her name is Josephine) has some really funny stories to tell about her childhood – like for example her love for animals. Her father always told her that if you sprinkled salt on a bird’s tail, you could catch the bird so she was always chasing birds around with a salt shaker and finally one day she managed to catch a crow. She tied a string to the crow’s leg and tied it to a chair in the house and she said it made the awfulest noises and it drove everyone nuts. Josephine said that she had heard that if you split the tongue of a crow it will talk so she asked everyone she knew how to do that…the crow eventually pecked through the string and got free…lol…

anyways I’ll type some more stories for you sometime!

Well I can’t remember what all else I posted about yesterday…and I should try and get some work done…even though I’ve not been in the mood to work lately…

Praying for each and every one of you!

Toodles

I was wondering why my tomatoes weren't turning red, yet!! LOL I am NOT very good at the weeding thing...I have a green pepper out there, too, I need to pick :)

You are your garden...reminds me I need to go over and get the maters and beans from the Parent's house. Will do that tonight. Not enough tomatoes, in my opinion. So...when we pick the kiddos up on Sunday, can we have more? I LOVE tomatoes, you know!!!!!

Yeah, I am a little upset that Season 6 didn't win HOH....but it is going to shake the show up a bit. Interesting...

Love your song!!! Love ya Sister!!!

So glad that you are enjoying the book! I would love to find a book about a house I were living in...but I'm a dork that way. I think that blog monster has been attacking me also!

I wish I were in your garden right now. Or at least at your supper table, it all sounds so yummy!
