So umm…so yeah Hi….it’s been so long since I’ve journaled that I’m not sure I even remember how!! Lol
And I haven’t even been a lurker either…what is up with that!
October was just a busy month man…so I think the last time I journaled we were expecting company, my husband’s cousins, and we were going haunted housing…well they came down and we had dinner (my husband’s second attempt at making a pork roast on the grill and let me just say….YUM! He totally nailed it!). This was like two Saturdays ago now…I don’t think this means it will necessarily be a long entry cuz I’m catchin ya’ll up on two weeks of stuff…lol…anyways…
So we had dinner and headed off to the Waverly Hills Sanitorium. The place is very old and way back in the day it was a tuberculosis hospital and it’s been featured on SciFi, Travel channel and most recently on VH1 as a “truly” haunted place…I don’t want to start a whole debate over whether there is really such a thing as “hauntings”…although it would be interesting to hear what others think of that subject. Whether it’s haunted or not it was way creepy…there was a line to get in…we waited over two hours! But the time went fast cuz we were visiting with each other and just checking out the place….the building is huge…and in the dark it’s very ominous….I wouldn’t want to spend the night there that’s for sure! Lol
So we get up to the door and it happened to be the goblins’ lunch break so we had to wait at the door a good while….it sort of took away from the scariness because the actors came out and had their smokes and potty break just a little ways from the door…lol…but so we’re standing there, near the ticket line and it was hard not to notice these people that bought tickets because it was a women and maybe a teenager or two but they also had with them three very very young kids…like maybe 5 or 6 year old kids…so I’m thinking first of all…man they have a long wait ahead of them because they were just buying tickets and the line was still around the building. And secondly, I hope that someone is going to wait outside with the little ones because they really are too young for this sort of thing. So, they left the ticket window and the next thing I know they are standing sort of behind me just out of line….well the people that we’d been standing in line with for two hours sort of scooted up right behind me….but the CUTTERS successfully CUTTED right behind them….that kind of thing REALLY irritates me so I was standing there a little perturbed and aware of what was going on…so we’re standing there waiting for the goblins to finish their lunch break and one of the girls behind me went up to the security guy at the door and told him about the cutters….well he went back to the cutters and asked them if they were cutting…I couldn’t hear what they said but apparently they denied it so he asked the people behind the cutters if the cutters had cut and I don’t really know what they said – the group right behind us was kind of large so the cutters were like 8 people back at this point- bottom line is that the cutters were simply allowed to cut…whatever…so I tried to just focus on having fun…well so the lunch break was finally over and yay it was our turn to scream! Lol so there were like 6 or 7 in our group and 8 or so people in the next group so the security/line control guy said that was too many…how many are in the next group after the group of 8….yup, if you’ve been paying attention (and I’m rambling so I know it’s hard lol) the next group was the cutters….so yup…we got to go through with the cutters (and I actually said that pretty loud – “Oh yay we get to go with the cutters” lol…and they continued to cut in front of us and just were rude as often they could be….ARGHHHHH…the really horrible part was though…the little ones were just absolutely terrified…they were crying and screaming and crying some more…it was just pitiful…at some point (thank heavens) we got separated from them…and it was much more umm enjoyable isn’t quite the right word cuz it was scary!! But a fun scary…if that makes any sense! Lol
But here it is three weeks later and I’m still salty about the cutters!!! Dang it!
Lol
So anyways since it was a 2 hour wait, that was the only one we had time to go to so the cousins made plans to come back the following weekend (this past weekend) on Friday to go to some more haunted houses…
So I had a cold last week so nothing really exciting happened so I guess I’ll just fast forward to Friday night…it was rainy so there was actually no line at the first one we went to – Baxter Avenue Morgue – yep, it’s really an old morgue too…I actually wished there was a little bit of a line cuz I really need to psyche myself up for these things! Lol so we went through the morgue…and they are allowed to touch you! Agh!! There were places like where you’d feel hand on your ankles…at one point we went through some hanging body bags…and some of the body bags actually grabbed you….AGH!! lol….so I couldn’t help myself…I was screaming and laughing louder than anyone…so of course, I was the target for a lot of the goblins…they had a ball with me lol…it was fun scary…after the morgue though we went to The Haunted Hotel…and it was not fun scary…it was bad scary…the first scenery was from the Exorcist and I just can’t handle that kind of scary so I didn’t look at much on our way through the hotel...I did see Chucky and other evil child things and that just creeps me out bad…it was like evil scary and I don’t like that at all….I can handle scary people in costumes jumping out at me and stuff…but there was just a different more psychological scariness about the hotel that I just didn’t like…I was happy when we were out of that place…I don’t really know how to describe it but the morgue I wanted to go again…the hotel just was way too spooky to me…and not a fun spooky…I dunno how to say what it made me feel…it just wasn’t fun….
So then we’d had enough…my nerves couldn’t take anymore…lol…so we went home and cousin K had taped a VH1 show where some celebrities were exploring the hauntedness of Waverly Hills…so we watched that and the scariest part of the show was actually watching Gary Busey…that man ain’t right…lol
Umm so then Saturday we all just sort of hung out…I made breakfast and then after breakfast (which – husband’s family is more my style because we all slept til 10:30ish and so breakfast was really brunch around noonish! Lol – granted we didn’t go to bed til like 3:00 a.m. but they aren’t morning people – which is really strange because my family is mostly morning people and I’m totally not but husband’s family is mostly night people and husband totally is a morning person…weird huh) anyways….after breakfast we played a few rounds of Cranium…they had never played and since I lost the rules a long time ago, it’s always fun to teach people how to play something that you don’t really remember how it goes lol…but we had fun…
After they left husband and I kinda just did our own thing and vegged….
Sunday – church was great – a lady that went to Emmaus last year gave her testimony and that was wonderful – it’s always cool when people share personally what God has done in their lives….I never get tired of hearing that! Sunday school was ok except for those few ladies who just like to hear themselves talk…argh…. Then Sunday we had a revival service which was really great…the preacher was a Baptist preacher from somewhere else in Kentucky and he just preached a sermon that I needed to hear…then at the end Preacher P opened it up for testimonies…and I just love testimony time…that just blesses me so much…I just am really happy with the church that God brought us to down here…the people are just so special!
So we had a miracle in our family last week…I’ve just been thanking God for His protection of my cousin Daisy (Queen’s sister)….I don’t know if Queen journaled about it or not – because of my lack of journal participation lately – but someone pulled out in front of Daisy which caused Daisy to lose control of her car and she ended up in a field after hitting (and splintering) a telephone pole…Daisy’s dad said that the emergency responders and state trooper both commented that she was lucky to walk away from that accident…I just thank God for protecting her through that!!!
We also have a heavy prayer request in our family though…our Aunt Kim…there have been some concerns about a growth around her lymph nodes and they are planning a biopsy of the growth but also she had a mammogram and there are three areas of concern so she has to go in for a more thorough mammogram…which sounds to me like they are concerned it’s breast cancer…so please continue to keep Aunt Kim in your prayers.
Well I think I’ve journaled enough for now…

Hey! It is about time you journaled again! And on a Thursday, no less! I know that is your busy day at work!
Yeah...so glad you had fun at the scary places....so not my cup of tea! But, glad you guys had fun. I cannot believe that people took their little kids in there! That is a form of child abuse! Those poor kids....I can't imagine!
Glad you have had some good times with Buford's family lately. I am sure that he misses spending so much time with them!
See ya tomorrow! Love ya!
Those scary places...i'm going to have nightmares just from reading your post!
Glad to see you're back!
Josy (I had to move my blog again, stupid beta blogger)
I'm gonna have nightmares tonight because of your journal! LOL! Glad you had fun....and I hate that those people cut in front of you AND had children.
Glad you are back to writing...I was getting worried about ya!
Lots of Love!
I'm a wuss in my old age. I can barely watch a scary movie anymore, much less go to a haunted house. I would have been mad at the cutters too! How rude and to take your young children! Sheesh! Glad you had fun with Buford's cousins, though.
I was about to send out a search party for you! :) Praying for your Aunt, and yes, Queen did journal about Daisy's accident. I'm glad she's okay!
I have to say, at first the "queen" thing made me uncomfortable...but now I love it!! LOL :) Makes me feel special :) LOL
Glad you had a good scary time...and even though I know what you mean about "fun" scary & "spooky/evil" scary, haunted anything isn't my cup of tea. But I get it that there is a difference...and sorry the one thing turned out to be spooky/evil scary.
Anyways, glad you journaled again!! :) I've been missing your posts :)
Love Ya!! :)
