What's in a name anyway....

So I scored another wonderful find at the flea market yesterday…lol before long my whole house is going to be a flea market find….it’s totally shabby chic and just need a little bit of love – a bolt needs tightened…I got this old round oak table…it’s painted. The base is a cream color and the top is white and it’s scruffy and at a furniture store, because so many furniture stores have the shabby, weathered looking furniture right now, I’d probably pay at least $300.00….I got it for $30.00!!

We put it in the breakfast room in place of the little checkered table (I’ve rearranged that room since you’ve been here sister)…and it looks really good there…I’ll have to post a picture…we were using that little checkered table so much and it was just so tiny now we have lots more room and the checkered table was really getting a little wobbly (also a flea market find that I painted and made pretty)

So last night we were having the whole naming the room discussion because in conversation when we refer to that room husband calls it the old dining room…I don’t like that…lol…not that it matters in the whole grand scheme of things what in the world I call a room lol…but anyway I’m really trying to re-name the room The Gathering room…husband said here’s how that conversation will go… wife:”It’s in the gathering room” husband:”where’s the gathering room wife:”you know, the old dining room”. So I told husband that I’m going to paint it on the wall “The Gathering Room” He said then we’d have to call it the gallery room because there would be two murals on the wall…we’re nerds…lol

But really I’m still on the campaign for The Gathering Room…because does tend to be the room that people gather in to talk to whomever is cooking in the kitchen. Plus our laundry gathers in that room….husband’s miscellaneous crap gathers in that room…my shoes gather in that room…you get the drift…and have I really wrote three paragraphs about the name of a room??? Lol

Sorry…umm what else has been going on…not really a heck of a lot…last weekend I finished a book that I’d been reading called Raven Stole the Moon by Garth Stein (for book aficionados like Sherry!) It was a really really good story….it had to do with a grieving mother and a lot of Alaskan Indian lore….it was just an excellent story…HUGE tear jerker though…because it’s about a woman dealing wit the grief after the drowning of her 4 year old son…really emotional as you can imagine…

Umm what else…we’ve had snow the last couple of days…really pretty…this morning driving in to work it was snowing pretty hard and it was just soooo pretty….I was driving through a wooded area with snow coming down…how pretty that was!

Not really much else going on…I’m adjusting well to my new contacts…actually I went back to the eye doc yesterday because the other day they didn’t have exactly my prescription in my right eye so they had to order it and it came in so now I’m trying these out and I’ll go back next week to just see how I’m adjusting…I gotta say, I love em and I’m seeing better than I ever have with contacts so wahoo…I was checking out glasses…I found a pair I really like only my prescription didn’t really change enough to justify a new pair of glasses so I’m having a little dilemma…because my old glasses are perfectly fine…so I don’t know if I’m going to order new glasses or not…aren’t you riveted by this journal entry? Geez…

Lol…I’m obviously just tryin to fill up space so I’ll go…hope everyone has an excellent Friday!
