We're Bonified!

Hey Ya'll... so yesterday we got our approval letter to become foster/adoptive parents.... which means that someone thought that Jimmie and I can actually be responsible for children!! lol When I called Jimmie yesterday to tell him (the Farm Show is this week so I'm a Farm Show widow) we both said, what were they thinking? But seriously even though we pretty much knew we'd be approved, it just makes it that much more real that there may soon be children in the house. And I have to say, I began freaking out a little bit... as far like... the details of childcare etc. I have talked to 3 daycares who have a few vacancies but then other classes are full so depending on the age of the child(ren) we may or may not have daycare lined up. My job is fairly flexible so that's really helpful however there are times like this week and next week where I am just swamped in responsibilities and can't fathom adding one more thing to my plate! So, ya know what, in my soul, I really feel the Lord is leading us in this direction and so my prayer this morning and the prayer I ask you all to pray for me is that I would continue to trust that the Lord will continue to lead us and provide for us.

That being said, for the past few months, I have watched a daycare being built and prepared for opening soon just outside the little town we live near and right on my way to work (and not far from the elementary school that any school age child we have would attend). I've never really been a "name it and claim it" type... but in the back of my head, I've decided that that daycare is being built for me... lol... whether that's true or not is yet to be seen but our God loves to work in the "coincidences" doesn't He?

Anyway, we're pretty excited about that...

So I wanted to let you all know too that tomorrow (Sunday) night on the Extreme Home Makeover show, they will be showing the house they did here in Louisville.

Ok, I plan to do a whole vaca re-cap post with pictures. However, I did not take my digital camera with me cuz I didn't want to have to keep track of it so all the pics we took were n a disposible 35mm and when I ordered prints I also ordered the disc so hopefully by Monday I'll have the disc.

We really did just have the time of our lives... and Jimmie especially enjoyed himself, which is good cuz that means it will be easier to get him to go again! One funny thing, at dinner we sat at a table with other people and of course we were all strangers to each other but by the end of the cruise we were all chatting like old friends. One of the couples is actually here in Louisville this week (they are from Kansas). The husband sells some sort of farm machinery and they are here for the Farm Show. Jimmie found his booth and talked to him for a good while.

But anyway, it was just a great time. I told Jimmie it sort of had almost a summer camp feel to it because there was just always something going on all over the ship and off the ship and everyone was friendly... like I talked to a lot of random strangers and I just don't do that generally... lol

And Jimmie found a Sugar Daddy...lol.... they showed the Super Bowl in various places all over the ship and Jimmie happened to sit by these older people from umm I think Massachusets (how do you spell that state? lol) anyways, I sat there for a little bit but when I found out they weren't showing the commercials because of some sort of rule I went on to catch a show (which I have to say of all the things that were my least favorite, the singing shows were pretty cheesey and hokey - I loved the comedians though). But ok so alcohol is not included, so it costs and on top of that everytime you order a drink, alcoholic or non-alcoholic frozen drinks included, the bar service person also adds a 15% gratuity to your bill. And you don't like pay them then and there, everything goes on a sea pass card, which is basically like your credit card on board the ship... so much like credit cards, it feels like you aren't spending money. I can imagine that there were many people waking up the morning we left with bar bills as big as what they paid to get on the ship because there were people who seemed to get drunk as soon as we got there and left drunk... which if they were that drunk I wonder if they even remember that they were on a cruise... why not just stay home? lol.... but anyway, this guy that Jimmie was watching the Super Bowl with, he was really nice and funny and he and Jimmie just hit it off and the guy was drinking, I think Jimmie said gin and tonics, like it was water. And he kept trying to buy Jimmie drinks - he was buying like rounds for his buddies. But later when Jimmie was telling me about that I said aww you found a sugar daddy. lol... Jimmie didn't take him up on his offer because he was afraid he'd have to buy a round too....

well I think I'm about done posting for the day.... I wanted to leave you with this email that was sent me... enjoy and be safe!

AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES
1. If you are choking on an ice cube simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat. Presto! The blockage will instantly remove itself.

2. Avoid cutting yourself slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold while you chop.

3. Avoid arguments with the Mrs. about lifting the toilet seat by using the sink.

4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.

5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.

6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough.

7. You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

8. Remember: Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Daily Thought: SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES. NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS
