This will probly be a short post because I don't have a whole lot to say really... I wanted to share some randomness... my little boy likes broccoli and tomatoes on his pizza... I haven't met a whole lot of kids who loves broccoli the way Matthew does... it sort of amazes me really! lol
Yesterday he told me a few times that his mommy was going to pick him up and take him to go live with her. Those are the times that I have to swallow my jealousy and my urge to say I'm the only mommy you need and really try to tune in to what he's thinking or feeling and just try to be sensitive to what he needs me to say about that. It's a challenge really... because that is when I'm reminded that I'm not his only mommy and not always the mommy he dreams about. Humbling to say the least. But as my mother says, no one really "owns" their children forever. They are our gift while they are in our care and then we need to let go of them and trust in God to care for them. So it's enough for me that I'm the mommy who kisses him goodnight every night and I'm the mommy who hugs him when he falls down and I'm the mommy who's there when he's having a bad dream and he comes running to me to hold him and comfort him and snuggle with him. For as long as I'm blessed to be Matthew's mommy, I will treasure every moment.
As for Cali... I am firmly and completely her only mommy. I love her to the moon and back and she loves me the same way... she is mama's girl and that doesn't hurt my heart one bit! lol
So I think both the kiddos struggled a bit this weekend because I went away to Women of Faith with Missy and mom... we had a wonderful time! There were a few different speakers there this year and a few regulars who weren't there which was a bummer but the newbies did a great job too! It was just such a blessing and so encouraging to be among so many women who worship the same God, the one and only God, our Father!
Jimmie did a wonderful job holding down the fort while I was gone and he and the kids bought and planted a Sweet Bay Magnolia tree for me for Mother's Day. I have to say, that is the best Mother's Day gift I've gotten so far. I can't wait til it starts flowering... it is an extremely fragrant flowering tree! I've been wanting one for a few years now.
well... umm... I think that's really all I have to say right now.. told you this might be a short ramble! lol
