so it rained some today...and yay no fountain and also the insulation in the attic is dry...so the leaks seem to be contained....PRAISE GOD!!!
Also, we just got home from a BEAUTIFUL Hanging of the Greens service...it was so pretty and totally got me in the spirit of Christmas...I have to start first with Preacher P's sermon this morning though....it was all about preparing our hearts for Christ's second advent...and how we should look forward to Christ's return just as a small child (and I lol) look so forward to Christmas morning...you know that excited anticipation feeling in your tummy...that's how we should be about Jesus coming back...I don't make the point as eloquently as he did...that's why he's the preacher I suppose...lol..but you get the point...it was a beautiful touching sermon...
so then tonight the Hanging of the Greens service was absolutley heart warming...from the scripture read to the carols sung...our church doesn't have the most beauiful sanctuary...it's kind of well plain...but when they decorate it for Chirstmas...it is breathtaking...so that's kinda what happened tonight...it really just was a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season and to remind me that Christmas is about the birth of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords...it's the beginning of the road that ended on Calvary...we dwell and prepare our hearts so much for Easter during the Lent season...meditating on the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the Cross...but we sometimes forget in the hustle and bustle of all that Christmas is...to reflect and prepare for the Advent season...I mean, it was the first sacrifice of many...the Creator of the Universe taking on human form and the ground level...He came humbly...this time...the next time will be majestic...in all His glory...I'm on a soap box but it is just so overwhelming when you think about it...what a wonderful mysterious mighty God we serve...He really is very mysterious though isn't He...
anyway...it has just been a great Sunday...lots of spiritual food for thought today...
I love our little country church...the service was so sweet...it was just full of imperfections that would have driven me crazy if it wasn't plain that everyone who had a part in the service was doing so with just this pure love of God...it was so cool...ok...so ya know how much I love interpretive dance (in case you are just tunin in, I'm not a fan...lol) but the youth did an interpretive dance to I can Only Imagine (probably the song of choice in the interpretive dance olympics, I'm sure) there were two adults and two teen age boys...and the lady that was dancing just got so caught up in the song (that song is truly very touching) that she was singing too...and she couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, bless her heart...but it was just so pure and so raw and such an expression of praise...that there wasn't really a dry eye in the place...it was truly touching...I'm tearing up now just typing about it...and then our sad little church choir sang..there's this alto who thinks that harmony is all in one note...bless her heart...but it was a joyful noise to the Lord...and I'm sure He thought it was the prettiest song ever sang...
and then the candles....so pretty...and the fellowship after...wonderful....just a great night...
Ok I'm rambling on and on....Have a wonderful week journal goddesses....
