well...it is freezing here! and Kentucky just doesn't deal well with cleaning off roads and such, so yesterday was an adventure...actually it was an adventure all week and I got really caught up in the hype yesterday morning...."THE WHITE DEATH IS COMING" could have been the news headlines on all the channels...and then when it actually started it was as if the sky was falling...there were poor weather reporters standing out in the cold and icey rain with the wind just blowing in their face and their hair...trying to smile...it was kind of comical...I watched this one lady report about the weather last night and they had her standing out in the blustery wind and you could tell that the gusts kept like taking her breath away....ya'll ever experienced that? When the wind blows hard enough in your face, it's hard to catch your breath...so this sub zero wind was leaving this woman breathless while she was trying to report and bless her heart she kept trying to smile but the wind was just blowing her face in to funny shapes and she kept having to squint...it was comical but I felt really sorry for her...lol...
so anyway, we survived the white death...it was pretty actually...but I did get a little caught up in the hysteria and husband ordered me to leave work asap yesterday...so I left like at 11:30....we were actually going to have our Christmas party yesterday...Judge takes all her staff and a few others to lunch and then to paint pottery....but because of the weather we ended up having to cancel that...bummer...
so chiseling out my car was fun this morning....we had a nice thick layer of ice under our snow...yippee...and I couldn't find my ice scraper, so I ended up using a dust pan which actually worked much better than an ice scraper...because it was bigger and I could clear more stuff quickly...I'm going to have to get an ice scraper and a dustpan for my car...lol
so we didn't end up going to Syriana the other night...it was a free ticket...which was so nice to get (thank LKP!) but well...if you know my husband you know he expires between 8:00 or 9:00 on the weeknights and the movie started at 7:00 on Wednesday...so we went to dinner and on the way to dinner we were trying to debate whether we should go or not and we discovered that neither of us were really wanting to go to the movie, so we decided maybe we wouldn't...so we had a really nice dinner and then we headed over to the movie place...our ticket told us to get there early because a seat isn't a guarantee...it was 6:45 when we got there and they were turning people away because the theater was full..so that made our decision for us...incidentally, husband thought that the movie started at 7:30...so if he had realized that is started at 7:00 we would have gotten over there earlier...but bless his heart...he can't read...lol...j/k...
so we came home and cuddled up to enjoy LOST...only to realize it was a re-run...grrrr....I watch the re-runs too...but I need a new LOST! Oh well...
so umm...I guess I already covered Thursday mostly...husband and I played poker after dinner...lol...we added an imaginary player and made up some fun rules to make it more fun since there were only two of us...I made yummy chili for supper...
and this morning I chiseled out my car and slippery slided to work....tonight we are going to see The Chronicles of Narnia...I'm super excited...and husband is only a little excited...lol
He has to work tomorrow and I'll probably craft or go shopping and then on Sunday we are going to see Weezie...Jimmie talked to another one of his aunts this week and she confirmed that Weezie is dying (UGH that sounds so awful when you say it outloud or typed) and probably has weeks or days left...Weezie's father and sisters live in West Virginia and they came to visit last weekend and will probably come back this weekend...I'm dreading the visit because...it's like...so painfully obvious why we are going...how do you say to someone you just wanted to come say goodbye (which is exactly what husband WILL say...he has no filter...lol)...it'll be like the unspoken "white elephant" in the room...so very sad and hard...ugh...please pray for the family...what a horrible time of year to be dealing with this...please pray...
ok well...I should get some work donw...have a happy Friday!!

I remember in TN once when they cancelled school because of the THOUGHT of snow! Then it didn't happen. The next year it threatened snow and no one did anything and by 9am, there was at least 4 inches on the ground and kids were stranded at the schools till 6pm or 7pm at night! So, I know how it is when they don't "deal" with the snow. Ohio deals with it, in fact, a little too much in my opinion! LOL! Hubby still had a meeting to go to and there was already 3 inches on the ground!
I hope you enjoy your movie tonight! Sorry you didn't get to go yesterday and your work party was cancelled.
Lots of Love!
Praying, still for Aunt Weezie & the rest of the family...
"THE WHITE DEATH IS COMING" was playing here, too!! LOL I just cracked up when I read that!! LOL :) King said 1290 (he's an old man, he listens to AM) they were breaking in every 15min for "updates"...he said he just started laughing, they weren't saying much more than "Yes, it's still going to snow..."
