Hola bonitas!
Ok so...here's a treat...lol...a real post and not just a post to show off my lame blinkies...lol!!!
so let's see...Sunday there was a guest speaker at church..but before that was Sunday school...and I think I journaled already, but it was a wonderful class and we actually had to put two big tables together and we still didn't fit everyone around it! It's a blessing to have so many come to Sunday School and we really have a great group of late 20's to 40-somethings...and we've been using a book written by the pastor (well now-retired pastor) of Southeast Christian. And for all the yammering that my husband does about Southeast being a "status symbol" church beacuse it's so large, etc....he LOVES Dave Stone (I think he's the main guy) and there is also an associate minister that does an excellent job too....they happen to have a radio slot on Sunday mornings and husband rarely misses it...so anyway, the book has really been wonderful...if you'll remember I journalled a while back that we hadn't been to Sunday School in a while and one Sunday husband said that the Lord was speaking to him that we needed to go to Sunday School and WHAMMMM the lesson hit us smack dab in between the eyes! lol...well it was a lesson from this book and almost every lesson since has just spoke straight to our hearts and the hearts of people in the class...anyway, yada yada yada...excellent Sunday School...next month we're going to study the beattitudes and then we are going to watch the Song of Solomon series....which I've heard from everyone is excellent...
anyways...so at church we had a guest speaker and he was the director or whatever of something to do with protecting the fanily in Frankfort...so it was sorta political laced with scripture and the gambling issue I think is coming up on the ballot in November here in Kentucky and so this organization is fighting for a no vote...one thing he said really floored me and made me tear up for whatever reason...he was using Vegas as an example of what can happen when gambling takes over and how they've made prostitution legal there...he held up a Vegas yellow pages and had a huge section separated....I think he said it was something like 180 pages or something like that...of just numbers for call girls...now I'm not all against gambling, probably because it hasn't affected my family in a negative way...most people I know can recognize that it's just a funsies thing...but the phone book illustration just made my stomach crawl...then he said something about ya know how they have that slogan...what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...well sexually transmitted diseases don't "stay in Vegas"....anyway...he went on and on and it was probably not a Sunday morning kind of speaker I would have like to have had...but it was informative and made ya think...then we sang Victory in Jesus and I love that song and Preacher P said sing it like ya mean it and so we did! that was my favorite part of the service!
Lazy rest of the day....husband piddled around outside...at one point he recruited me to help him...someone gave him a van that doesn't run and he is taking the seats out and putting them in his big red hillbilly truck...and he was having trouble getting the back seat out so he needed my help to try and loosen the bolts...but his plan didn't work so he had to cut it out...
Lazy day yesterday too...I took a good long walk outside...it was a really pretty day...I was going to take my dogs but I caught them at nap time and I just couldn't wake them up...on my last lap Trinity discovered me so I petted her for a little bit and then she went and woke Chaos up so I sat outside with them for a while...then yesterday evening the Methodist men had a potluck and invited the women and the speakers were two people from Hospice...and let me tell you...those people are just angels, there is no other way to describe what they do for people...it was a very interesting thing to learn about...I just love the Methodist men "career night" type sessions...
so now it's work work work...which I should really be doing...I really didn't intend to journal so much! lol...but there it is...and here we are...hope you all have a great and blesses week!!

I would like to know the name of that book by BOB RUSSELL.....Dave Stone is the Associate Minister. I just had to get that in...LOVE YOU!!!! :)
Your Hubby sure sounds like a hill-billy when you talk about taking seats out of a van for his truck. Did you see the emails flying around with the red-neck stuff....cuz I coulda swore that Buford's "trailer" was on there!!! That is why we love him so!
Glad that your Sunday School is going so well. I never get to go to that cuz I am always busy....plus we don't have any classes I am really "in" to right now. I would love to do the Song of Solomon thing. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about that!
Love you Sister!!!!
Oh my....I had no idea about the legalization of prostitution in Vegas. That makes my skin crawl. It's just so sad to see how humans can mess up such a perfect made world!
I laughed about the old van seats. That seems like TN redneck thing!
Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday! Lots of Love!
