And now for something completely different.....

So I don’t know what’s going on lately…but husband and I have been spending soooo much more time together than normal and just cuddling on the couch in the evening to watch tv…like we did in the “old days” lol…I’m not complaining at all…but do you all go through periods like that in your relationships? All of a sudden you just can’t get enough of each other…I mean we’ve never like intentionally shunned one another and it’s probably got something to do with it not being tractor pull season and I’m sure it will get old because I’ve always been a person who needs my space….but I’m just enjoying my husband lately…does that make sense? It’s a really cool thing…

I love to make him laugh…it’s fun! We make each other laugh a lot…I think that’s one of the biggest things we have in common and love about each other…we sooo get each other’s sense of humor and that is very important to me…a sense of humor…I treasure a good sense of humor Lol…

So anyway last night I was making husband laugh hard….we were fixing to watch the President’s State of the Union (because we are political nerds lol) and so we’re watching all the people come in…and ok so ya can’t hear em so we were making up like what they might be either thinking or saying to each other…like, for example, they showed Clarence Thomas and well…you know what he’s best known for (remember Anita Hill?)…lol…so there was “those” kind of comments…and then I was making fun of how the reporters have to come on way before the speech and tell us what he’s gonna say (and then afterward they have to tell us again what he said)…umm…couldn’t we just listen to the speech…hello…and then one thing that really bugs me about the State of the Union addresses in the past is all the clapping…even when it’s a President I love (like George Bush)…can’t they just hold their applause til the end (so I was making fun of that)…I guess I understand that it is the crowds way to interact with what he is saying…but it just makes the speech drag on…there were a few moments last night though that I was really happy with the clapping…when they applauded the family who recently lost a son in Iraq…that was cool…anyway…the clapping didn’t get on my nerves too much last night though…

I giggled when I heard that they had to arrest Cindy Sheehan (that wasn’t nice but I did giggle..lol..sometimes I’m not nice). If you don’t follow the news closely…Cindy Sheehan is the woman whose son was killed in Iraq and is best known for setting up camp outside President Bush’s Texas ranch demanding a meeting with him (she’s had a few meetings with him already) and she actively organizes anti-war protests (incidentally I saw an interview with someone in her family and they are not in agreement with what she is doing and are sort of embarrassed by her)…now I ask you, however you feel about the Iraq war…if we were to pull out of the war right this minute…with things unfinished and the country so vulnerable to being taken over by anyone with such an inclination (i.e. terrorists) wouldn’t that cause Cindy’s son (and many, many other heroes like him) to die for no purpose whatsoever? I’m sooo off on a tangent..sorry…

Anyway…so apparently Cindy was an invited guest to the speech last night by a Senator from California. However, the news reported last night that she was trying to bring in signs and posters so they had to arrest her…well it turns out this morning the news says that she was wearing a protest t-shirt and she refused to cover it and that is actually why she was arrested. Now I do not agree with her views one bit, and I’d really need to know what the t-shirt said to make a fully informed opinion (not that it’ll stop me from forming an uninformed opinion lol) plus, if there was a known dress code that everyone had to follow, that’d be a good reasons too…but I have problems with arresting someone for what they are wearing….to me, that’s a little bit of a violation of the right to free speech. I can recognize that although I do not agree with her opinions…she has the right to them and she has the right to talk about and spread her opinion as much as she wants…anyway….there’s my editorial on that…lol (won’t you sleep easier knowing my views on Cindy Sheehan!)

Well…umm…I guess this has been sort of a political entry…

How did I go from talking about how much I’m enjoying my husband to politics?…lol…actually, that makes perfect sense, because we share a lot of the same political opinions and also, we like to poke fun…lol…one thing we found humorous in the speech was President Bush kept using the word isolationism…and for some reason that sounded like a made-up word so at one point I said something about playing tagalony (sister and Queeny may be the only ones to get that Lol) let me explain tagalony….there’s this game called Balderdash and if you’ve never played it I highly recommend it…the gist is that they give you obscure words and you have to make up a definition and try to fool people into thinking that your definition is the correct definition…anyway…one time we were playing with Uncle Poncho and the word was tagalony. I cannot even recall the correct definition now, but Uncle Poncho’s definition of the word was a game one plays when one finds himself alone (get it…tag your it…tag your it – tag yourself) lol…anyway…so we were just giggling all evening and I really love laughing with my husband….it’s the little times like that that just leave this happy, content feeling on my heart…I know we all have them…I just wanted to type about em…lol…

I’m rambling…I think I’m going to go see Bubba and Estelle at lunch again today…lol…again with the happy and content moments…yada yada yada….Happy Wednesday….

And on a side note (in case I don’t get to journal tomorrow – prentend I’m typing this on February 2!!)….HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY TO PRINCESS….and Happy Day-ya-got-engaged to King and Queen! Groundhog Day is a good day at the Royal’s home!! Lol

Toodlaloo….

You crack me up! I was actually laughing out loud recalling the whole "tagalony" incident...and someone walked by and asked me what was so funny!!! That is such a precious and priceless memory!! We sure have a lot of them in this family!!!

Yeah...I think we all go through phases like that in our marriages. I wish it was like that all the time....but reality is that it can't be, I guess! I am looking forward to having the evening alone with Hubby since the kids will be with the Parents!

Thanks for making me laugh...and I SO did not watch the State of the Union. I am so out the loop on all things political right now. I just get fed up with it!!!

Love ya Sister!!!

"2245 Dead. How many more?"
That is what her shirt said. I had to look it up because I didn't hear anything about her being arrested till your journal. Apparently a republican senator's wife was also asked to leave for wearing a shirt that said
"Support the Troops Defending Our Freedom."
The article I read said you could "demonstrate" any views in the house. Okay, enough about that! LOL!
I too go through lovey dovey stages with my hubby just like when we were dating. My Hubby makes me laugh too...that is what attracted me to him. He said that my up front-know what I want kind of woman is what attracted him to me! LOL!
Have a great day!
Lots of Love!

Awww, thanks for thinkin' of us today!!

I seriously laughed out loud at the tagalony game!! That's so funny!! I had forgotten all about that, but I'm sure I'll have to start using that phrase, now, though!! LOL :) TOO FUNNY :)

Oh, and I have phases like that, too, when I see hearts & flowers, and stuff :) And just enjoy being with King...right now is not really one of those times, but reading your journal is making me a little reflective :) LOL :)

Okay, talk to ya later :)

You mean I'm not the only one who plays tagalony? We used to do balderdash in high school for our newsletter. We thought it was hilarious fun! I won't comment on your political ramblings, I'm a Clinton fan myself.

Lotsa love,
Josy
