So I have a HUGE PRAISE to share with ya’ll….I may have mentioned in passing that we were going to have a tax issue this year, but I’m not sure that I journaled about it yet…

Anyway…here’s the short (yeah right! lol) version of the story…

My husband pulls tractors…I should probably post this at home so that I can post a picture of his tractor…but anyway…if you don’t know what a tractor pull is then you are probly city folk…although, I was raised in the country and I hadn’t ever really heard of tractor pulling until I met my husband…anyway…he was raised on a farm and his family always had a project tractor and I guess back in the day they were heavy in to the competition of it all…they have actual circuits all over the country and in other countries and people travel around pulling their tractors (it’s a competition type thing where they see who can pull the most weight the furtherest)…and the tractors are not normal tractors….some people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars “beefing” up the horse power on these things….some of them go so far as to put airplane engines on them and some have like up to four engines on them….it’s just this highly lucrative hobby but all boys have their thing, am I right? Lol….

I won’t bore you with all the details...needless to say we're not capable of being in the catagory to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on this hobby…lol…but anyway almost two years ago, husband had the opportunity to purchase a tractor that could compete in the class that he likes and was reasonably priced (under $20,000). So, after a lot of discussion and prayers and worry, we both decided that he could take a loan against his 401k and his dad would pay half so we could pay a big chunk back and then pay the loan back ya know...like ya pay loans…well, his dad hasn’t paid him anything…which is a whole other story…so but anyway…last Aprilish husband had it with the company he was at (too much travel….too much crap…and too much time away from home) so he walked away from that job when he got a better offer down here closer to home. The 401k loan didn’t even cross our minds when he made that decision…and if we had it to do over, he would still make that choice because the job switch has been the best decision of our married life! But…too late, we realized that we’d have to either pay the loan back in full immediately or take the tax hit…we opted for the tax hit and have been dreading tax season since…lol….

Well…Aunt Beautiful (isn’t that what we’re calling her?) does our taxes and she worked her magic…and although we do still have to pay….it’s not nearly what we expected…we were thinking (and whole-heartedly fearing) that we’d have to pay anywhere from $3000 - $7000 (holy smokes!) but the figure is actually something like $2500 that we owe and our state is a refund of nearly $800 so we’ll end up paying like $1700 (which is still gonna be painful but not nearly as painful as we’d feared and plus husband is doing some contract work for his old company so he is easily making the money to cover that in the next few weeks...(funny God-thing...that work turned up just in time to pay this...isn't that neato?)

So anyway….mom and dad brought our tax stuff to us yesterday and I looked at it first and I said….I think this is good news so I called husband and he confirmed it and he said…man I coulda bought more tractor parts…lol…but then he said…this is definatley a thank you prayer moment! And I said Amen! lol

so anyway....just wanted to share that PRAISE THE LORD moment with ya'll!

ok....American Idol comment....as cute as that little chicken little feller is...he really should have left before Gideon...although saying that, I'm not a Gideon fan...he's a little weird...but he is very talented and the little feller is getting by because he's stinking adorable...but Gideon sang better....I"m not unhappy with the way the votes fell last night...that was just an observation...

and I have to vent one more thing....I'm sorry cuz I know some of you are probly fans of hers...but she gets on my last nerve...Kelly Pickler...she's just too much...too cutsie....too much of the wide-eyed dumb blond act for me...she gets on my nerves...can ya tell? lol

I really think that there are more talented guys on this one this year....that Taylor Hicks is entertaining ain't he? lol...he dances like me! LOL

well...I better get a little more work done before I head outta here...I may post a picture of husband's tractor since I journaled about it...I know that you all dying to see it....lol

luv and hugs....

Have I mentioned lately how much I enjoy reading your journal & how blessed I feel to be able to "talk" to you more than just major holidays? LOL :) PTL!! :) It's awesome how He works, isn't it?!?!

I agree with you about Gedeon & Chicken Little!! LOL :) I think Chicken Little was surprised he made it through, just by looking at his first reaction...and Bucky? Really? Does he have the Hillbilly vote, or what?!?! LOL :) Seriously, going by vocals, Gedeon should've gone through...I agree, though, he was a little odd...but neat how he threw all that "I'm saved by the blood of Jesus" stuff in there :) Go, him!! LOL :)

I've felt the losses bigger this year than I have before (except for Constantine)...I mean as far as just being sad for the people voted off...I just want to cry for them...

Okay, I'll stop talking about Idol!! LOL

Talk to ya later :)

I'm from the country and I've heard of tractor pulls...used to date someone whose family used to be big into that! And....I don't think any less of you or your hubby! LOL!

Glad things are going well!

Lots of Love!
