I had a longgggg happy weekend…if you’ve read sister’s journal (Angelkids) then you pretty much know what I did too…lol…Friday morning husband and I got up and hit the road…we went to Frisch’s breakfast bar in Florence ya’ll…then we went to Sears to get dad’s Father’s Day present…bless his heart…he has their anniversary, father’s day and then a week later his birthday…so he sometimes get “multi-purpose presents” – which means one present for all three holidays…so we try not to do that…but anyways…so we went to Sears and got dad a leaf blower…he has one but since they have two houses….they need one for the Tucky house too…umm…so, I have been in a Sears somewhere where they also have greeting cards…but this one didn’t have any so we got cards later on…oh man…I got sidetracked big time because they were having a huge sandal sale and they had purses on sale too…but I resisted the urge to make any selfish purchases! Lol
So then we went to mom and dad’s….unloaded the car. Husband visited for a little bit but since we were going to the water park, he decided to go visiting in the town we used to live in. He also went by a Chevy dealer and they told him what was wrong with my car. Apparently there are two computer chips or something like that and the one that controls the locks, windows, and radio is going bad.
I shouldn’t tell this story because it makes me look dumb…lol…but when has that stopped me? Lol…ok so this computer is going bad on my car…and it only acts up when it is hot…well Thursday after I left work, I met my husband at the Mexican restaurant for dinner…when I pulled and turned the car off, the radio didn’t go off…and then I realized that the locks, which automatically lock when you put the car in drive, didn’t unlock…so I began to panic that I was locked in. At that point I could still roll down my windows….but I was literally about to reach for my phone and call my husband to tell him that I was locked in, when I remembered that he had pointed out where the manual locks are located! So that saved me an embarrassing phone call lol…”help I’m locked in my car!” lol nerd….
Anyways…so we had a fabulous day at the water park…I do not understand my husband sometimes…he has the hardest time just sitting down and relaxing….I could go and lay at that water park every other day all summer long and still want more!! Lol I had a lot of fun going down the water slides! I got a little pink but not like my poor sister…she did put on sun screen but after she was burnt…bless her heart…
So Saturday morning I jumped out of bed around 8:00ish and it was go go go from the get go….I had some coffee….put my hair in a scrunchie….skipped the make-up…not even a little! That is very unusual for me….I called husband because he was yard saleing (which is unusual for him, but again, he has a hard time sitting still…so he was antsy….oh also, he got up in the middle of the night and went and slept on the couch because he was having trouble sleeping in the very small bed compared to our king size bed….so anyways…I did notice at some point that he was gone and then I dreamt that we had a conversation and he told me he went and slept in the car….so I asked him when I saw him if he slept in the car and he laughed….but anyways…so he came and picked me up…we swung by BK for breakfast and then to Meijers because I had an epiphany that for table center pieces potted flowers would be pretty and then we’d have favors to give away….duh! lol….so we went to Meijers and I resisted the urge to get all daisies….daisies would be appropriate if it were a party for me or sister but not so much for mom and dad…but I selected some really nice begonias….which really look like roses…and I did get some coral colored gerbera daisies….husband went and got trash bags because I called sis to see if they needed anything and they needed trash bags…and I also found some more tablecloths….then we were off to sister’s to decorate n stuff…which went really well as sister said because the boys left….actually, BIL and husband were going to sneak off without I-man but I told I-man what BIL and husband were plotting and he wanted to go!!! Lol
So but anyway…I was annoying myself because I had all this nervous energy and I felt like I was going a hundred miles an hour so I asked sister if I was annoying her…lol…she said no….anyways…umm…and then the party….fun!! I wish that I would have remembered to give people a chance to tell a story or a toast to the anniversary couple…but other than that…it was really fun…the Newlywed Game was hilarious!
We came home after because husband didn’t want to have to sleep on the couch again…I’m glad we did though because it was really nice to have the whole day Sunday to rest….and also, we missed our church last Sunday so it was good to be at church this Sunday….the people that sat behind us were in a bit of a giggly mood…and it was contagious…so contagious that Preacher P got tickled too…and he said something about how cool it is that we can laugh and have a good time in the Lord too…and actually, we had talked about that a little bit in Sunday School too…we are created in God’s image and He gave us this amazing sense of humor…so you know that He has plenty of belly chuckle moments too! I bet He even plays practical jokes on the angels…what do you think?? Lol…it was a good day to be in the House of the Lord…oh my heavens…ok so during our reflection time, I got very teary because sitting two rows in front of us was a couple whose 22 year old son was murdered two years ago…and sitting between them was the woman who he would have married this year….so for all intent and purposes, she’s their daughter-in-law…..and I just was thinking how incredibly painful Father’s Day (and Mother’s Day) must be for these people….my heart was just filled with grief for them….he was their only child…and there is no way to ever get over the fact that he was taken from them….time will numb the pain…but it will never go away….so I was teary from that….and then….a man and his two little daughters (6 and 4 years old) got up and sang a song called “Daddy Don’t Forget My Kisses and Hugs”….there wasn’t a dry eye in the church!! I’m tearing up right now remembering it….how precious!!!
Ok new topic….lol…so after church a lady come up and told me about the Historical Society potluck on Monday night…so we went to that last night…there were some authors there and the president of the historical society in Kentucky and the topic was the Civil War battles that were fought in KY….it was very interesting…so again, we did something outside of our realm of experience and had fun! Lol
I’m sure I have more to say…but this entry is getting wayyyyy too long…so I’ll end it there….happy Tuesday!!

Yes, it was a great weekend and great party. I was talking to Mom last night and she was talking about how nice it was!
And I agree...I would love to spend every Friday of the summer at the pool! That was very nice!!!
Glad you guys got home okay and were able to rest on Sunday! Have a great day!
Love ya!
As I commented on your sister's journal, I'm glad the party went well. It sounds like it was a blast! Also a fun day at the water park! I'm with you...I'd much rather spend a day by the pool!
Way to get out of your comfort zone and try something new! That's something I'm bad about! Have a good Tuesday!
I loved the gerbera daisies!! :) They were VERY cute, and you guys did an awesome job on your parent's party :) Lots of fun :)
One of our youngsters sang her dad's favorite song with the PT backing her up on the choruses, and WOW, did I get teary eyed, too...as I was singing, I was hit with the thought that I have a great earthly father, but I've been SO blessed with my heavenly father, and with her sweet little kid voice, it was just such a touching moment...
Anyways, NMJ...I think Mom & Dad are getting a pool like Missy's, so YAY!! Pool party at the 'rents' house!! LOL
Talk to ya later :)
I'm so glad that the party went well. Sounds like ya'll put a lot of time and energy into it and it was worth it! YEAH!!!!!
Okay, laughed and laughed about being locked in the car. I thought of the joke of the blond that was so upset because she couldn't get into her car because the keyless entry wouldn't work. A guy came by and stopped, she told him the story and he got her key and put it in the door and opened it up. LOL!
I totally understand about wanting to get in your king size bed. Last night, Hubby slept in one of the double beds and I slept in the other! LOL!
Lots of Love!
