Monday's ramblings....

Hi ya’ll…it’s been a while! Lol
I’ve been a busy camper….work was slow last week…Judge was in a jury trial…our office is crawling with interns right now too….well two interns…one comes every day and the other one only comes once or twice a week….the daily one is actually being paid for by a Drug Court grant…so it’s like his summer job…he’s a little strange…an arrogant second year law student who has a lot to learn….so work is a little aggravating right now….I’m used to chatting with my boss throughout the day but now I’m having to “fight” the interns for her attention! Lol plus the fact that last week she had a jury trial in another county…so actually last week the office was quieter than usual because the interns went with her….and the phones were very quiet…just not a lot going on…so I decided that instead of spending time at work inventing things to do, I took Thursday and Friday off…well Friday was planned but Thursday I stayed home and cleaned my bedroom….that was LONG overdue….I also took a picture of the new quilt, because it has inspired me to make my bed everyday (!)…lol…but I’m posting at work and I don’t have my camera so I’ll post a picture later…

Anyways so I threw away 3 trash bags full of clothes (well husband uses em in the barn for rags) a half a trash can dumpster thingy full of shoes…and I even vacuumed our “lace” (really dust) off the ceiling fan blades (we have 14 foot ceilings in the bedroom so I had to balance myself on the bed to do that lol) …I was on a mission…after I threw away all those shoes…I was putting something away in another part of the house and I found another stash of shoes…I have a sickness! Lol….but it feels good to have that done…and I’m inspired to go through the house room by room and do the same thing…I’m just so stinking tired of all the clutter!!! I really should gather stuff to have a yard sale…but sometimes that is just false pretences to shuffle junk around….so blah!!!

But anyways….so that was Thursday…on Friday hubby and I got up and headed to Ohio….we had breakfast at Frisch’s in Florence Ya’ll and then we ran over to Old Thyme Pottery to get a hammock (we inherited a hammock stand when mom and dad downsized but no hammock)….I wanted to look at every stuff in the store but hubby whined so I went through a few of my favorite aisles and then we were outta there…I think that is the quickest trip I ever made in there lol…

So we got to mom and dad’s, played with the kids a little...I got to rock FAB to sleep for her nap…she’s such a sweet pie (most of the time…she has picked up a little temper from somewhere since I’ve seen her last)….then dad, I-man, hubby and I went to a few yard sales….all illegal ones!....came back…had some taco salad for lunch/dinner and then I-man, hubby, and me were off to a tractor pull…

I-man is a trip…he talks NON-STOP!!! Lol….”why do the tractors make smoke?” “why is the smoke black?” “what’s that guy doing that for?” why why why…..lol…and just when I’d thought I had enough, he’d look at me with a goofy expression or be such a sweet boy….made my heart melt! Lol…and also after a while, hubby was trying to ignore us and talk to his tractor buddies so when I-man asked me a question I’d say I don’t know ask your uncle Buford….so then I-man would look at Buford (who was in deep conversation with some guy) and this is I-man….

lol….finally Buford would acknowledge him…lol…this went on for a while too lol…oh I forgot to mention that while trying to answer his questions…I-man was wearing ear plugs because some of the tractors are loud…so after you’d answer his question he’d say “Huh??” lol…so you had to repeat everything twice!

Buford said that that was a little bit like birth control!! Lol

But we really did have a good time….I just get such a kick out of the way I-man’s little mind works…he really has such a good sense of humor and a quick wit…

So then Saturday we got up….had a leisurely morning….sister came over and we went to a party supply shop to look for decorations for mom and dad’s party…we didn’t really find anything that struck our fancy so I’m going to look at a store down here…I did find some decorations online so I’m encouraged that they are out there somewhere! Lol If the store down here doesn’t have em, I’ll order them express delivery online….

Then we went to a graduation party for my cousin…who was the valedictorian and class president but because of poor planning of the party, there weren’t that many people there…but it was good to see all of my dad’s side of the family…we don’t get to see them very often because there is a lot of constant bickering and so forth….it’s so cool to see how my cousin has turned out to be this outgoing very smart guy….he has a full five year scholarship to Wright State with provisions also made for his boarding or gas money if he commutes! So proud!

Then husband and I left there because he was bored and we drove around some and then we went back to mom and dad’s to take a nap….sister dropped off FAB before praise team practice and shortly after that mom and I-man and dad came home and we all loaded up to go to the movies…we saw Cars….which was excellent….they go tractor tipping…which I knew husband would get a kick out of…it was just a great movie…

I’m telling you what though…I’m thankful for our rural movie theater prices down here in KY….we went to the theater there at Fairfield Commons and after admission and popcorn, hubby and I alone spent almost $40.00!!! agh! Down here a trip to the movies is half that! Thank heavens the movie was so great! Lol

Sunday, we were supposed to go visit some friends from our old home town…but it ended up just being a guy thing so hubby went there and I rode back with mom…I was hoping that they weren’t going to leave so quickly so that I could have come to church with sister….but they wanted to get on the road so off we went….

That about does it for me…I think the entry is long enough!! Lol…I will say that, I know I’m partial, but I have the cutest niece and nephew…I just really enjoyed playing with them! And just watching them…that little FAB is a stinker though! Lol but even when she’s throwing her tantrums she’s adorable!! Lol (I’m sure her mother doesn’t think so!)

Anyways….Praying for so many…especially Kelley and her family…
