It's Tuesday...I don't have a clever title....lol

Well…dilemmas dilemmas…

Hello, my name is Jodi, it has been several days since my last post…blah blah blah…lol

The biggest thing that has happened since I last posted is that last Wednesday I was reading our local paper and I always peruse the classifieds just because….well my attention fell upon a want ad for a position at our local health department…it pays $3.00 more an hour than what I currently make and it’s a lot closer to home…I met the qualifications so I thought about it for a little while but then decided I am so happy at my current job how could I even think about applying? And anyway the deadline for applying was Friday…

So Buford was in E-town, Hoosierville last week for work, so when he made his evening call I mentioned the ad to him and he was like….GO FOR IT!! grrr… so anyway I thought more about it and long story short, on Friday Buford drove me to drop off the application and I was still (and am still) very much in turmoil about applying for a new position…I was actually in tears and I told him that I felt as if I was betraying a friend (because my boss is also my friend)…but anyway so it hit me at some point over the weekend that I have got to tell my current boss what I’ve done…I thought about calling her at home…so Monday I kept waiting for an opportunity to tell her…I really just wanted to give her a heads up just in case…I’d rather tell her now than if I’m actually offered the job and I’m out the door, ya know? But anyway…Monday came and went and I hadn’t had a chance to talk to her about this…so she called a little while ago to let me know that she was working at home and I chickened out again…this morning when I came to work…I actually typed out what I wanted to say to her, thinking if nothing else, maybe I’d send her an email….see, we have an intern for the summer and he’s always around so it’s hard to have a private conversation around here! Arg…that’s a whole nother rant…

Anyways…if I say long story short in the same story is that really inappropriate? Lol long story short…I went into the conference room a little while ago…took a deep breath and called her back and told her…she was very encouraging and she didn’t freak out at all…so I’m really glad that it’s out there…blah…

I’m still in such turmoil though because I really love this job…sure it has it’s flaws…much as any job does…but I’m really really happy here…and I love my boss but I guess I do need to explore this option…

So that is the big drama in my life right now…please keep me in your prayers!!

Other than that…umm..the weekend was kind of normal…we worked in the garden some on Friday until it started storming and we had to run for cover…Saturday I did laundry, cut up vegetables, broke up some green beans…Sunday we had children’s church…and I didn’t really have any certain lesson planned…and actually on the way to church I told husband that he’s always my CC helper so this week I was going to be his CC helper…he didn’t like that idea…anyway…so we had a really good group of kids so we sat around the table talking for a little bit and they asked what we were going to do and I said, well, this is children’s church so I was kind of thinking that we’d “play” church…there were all sorts of exclamations like “COOL!” “You guys are our favorite CC people!!” YAY!” So I had a good feeling about this….anyway I had them get the chairs set out in rows…and there was a little podium…and they were all just very jazzed about playing church…one little boy asked if he could be the preacher so I said absolutely…so husband and I sat down and these kids just took over….it was the coolest thing!!! The kids play a big part of the upstairs service at the beginning in that they all take turns being the acolytes (candle lighters). So they sat up some paper cups to be pretend candles and one kid played the piano while two others “lit” the “candles”…We guided them a little bit…like, I mentioned that we have a praise and prayer request time…and everyone had something to say…and the little preacher boy asked for paper and pen so he could write down all the prayer request…after the prayer they decided that the “choir” needed to sing so several kids got up and they did a few VBS songs…and then it was sermon time….the preacher boy thought for just a second…then he got a Bible and started flipping through it and then he said….umm…does anyone know where the story of the good Samaritan is?? Lol…so we had a Bible drill of sorts…and after we found the passage, he read it while the other kids acted it out…after that, they decided it was time to do communion…so the only thing we had that remotely resembled communion food were goldfish crackers and water….and all the kids started kneeling around a table and I told them…I know that we’re “playing” church and this is kind of a lighthearted atmosphere, but I just let them know that communion is a very reverent time between them and God so I said as we do this…say a quiet little prayer to God…and it was the sweetest most special moment I’ve ever had in a children’s church time…

It really made me realize how much children really are paying attention to what adults do in church…these kids aren’t even up in the service most of the time…but they knew exactly what goes on in an average service and they were so excited to imitate and share with each other the way grown ups do…it was just the coolest thing to sit back and watch!! I got such a blessing from children’s church!!

Last night we worked in the garden some more…we are getting tons of beans!! Yum!! And we actually got two tomatoes on Sunday…they were red so I picked em but they weren’t as ripe as I like em but we ate them anyway…yum! There are a ton of green ones out there!! Soon enough I’ll have tomatoes coming out my ears!! Lol

Well I’m going to try n catch up on reading journals…

Oh man!! I just have to comment on BB7’s Sunday night episode (also, I must admit that I have been reading live feeds so I know what’s going to happen tonight…I knew what was going to happen on Sunday too…aren’t I a nerd!!! I’m the same kid that snoops around for Christmas presents before Christmas too…the suspense just kills me and when I know it’s out there waiting to be read…I just can’t help myself!!!) anyways….my comment was on Dr. Will’s spray on tan…what the heck is that about?? Ugh…I’d really like to see him go this week…but I’m not sure that’s going to happen…I just don’t know what those people are thinking?? Can’t they see that he is diabolical? I think I’m remembering his season more and he is just a sneaky snake and they better wise up to that fact…grrrrrr…

Anyways…I better get some work done….toodles!

YOur blog is hilarious!! I can actually picture you saying all of this. Too funny.

Our garden is growing like crazy too. We have zucchini out our ears right now. Can't wait for the tomatoes. And lots of cucumbers. Not my favorite but my hubby is soo excited, lots of these plants he actually planted from seed in hubby's little make-shift greenhouse.

Praying that the job thing works out. What a dilemna to have.

Praying that the job situation gets figured out....more money would be great...and closer to home would be nice.....so hopefully if it is meant to be all the doors will open and it will happen. But if it doesn't, you are happy where you are...so it won't be so bad! So....keep us posted on that!

Thanks for making me cry in your comment to my post!!! :) Love ya!

And on BB....I would LOVE to see Dr. Will go...but for some reason, I don't see them doing that. They SHOULD, but they WON'T! GEESH!

Love ya and glad you are back! I miss your posts when you are gone!

Love ya!

I know I'm a couple of days late on this, but I had to comment...

I, too, wondered what was up with Dr. Will's "tan". I got a good chuckle out of this. I also loved his POV speech. Too funny telling everyone that he hated them equally! LOL.

That is so neat about children's church! I'm also jealous of your beans and tomatoes! Send some our way!!!!
