We burned my birthday present last night!!

For some wacky reason Blogger has not been working properly on my computer at work which is highly aggravating….but basically I can read posts but no commenting or posting…whatever…

So anyways…I’m typing this at work for now but I’ll probably add to it when I get home and then post it…

Ya like my title? Lol…we literally BURNED my birthday present…can ya guess what I got? I’ll tell ya at the end….lol!!

Umm so I guess I posted last Thursday…hubby was still sickly on Friday too, bless his heart by Saturday he was feeling a little better and Sunday almost back to normal…his biggest birthday present to me was that thus far he has not given me whatever it was that he had!

So Friday we didn’t do much…I took a little nap when I got home and curled up with a book and also I watched my soap opera that I hadn’t watched all week because I didn’t like what they were doing with some of my favorite characters but it was a really good episode Friday night!! So I may start watching that some more now…umm and I also watched The Soup…on E!....does anyone else watch that? It is so funny…most of the time I laugh til I cry when I watch that…basically they make fun of whatever has been on television that week…they have Chat Stew and Reality Show clip time…those are my favorites…the “What the Kids are watching” segment had a really bizarre clip of the cartoon Brats this week…

So I have to tell you that on Friday on my way home from work – oh first of all BIG PRAISE!! We finally got the replacement part for my car so I do have a radio and power locks and windows again…yahooo!! Since those weren’t “essentials” we had been putting that off….

Anyway so on Friday on my way home from work, I was listening to my Christian talk radio channel and Janet Partial’s America was on and they were discussing and playing clips of some really bonehead remarks that Rosie O’Donnell made on The View on Friday (or one day last week anyway)…basically she compared radical Christians to radical Islamists and continually tried to turn the anger we should have for terrorists toward Christians…and I’m telling you what, the more I listened to that the more my blood was just boiling and I was literally yelling at the radio….so after a few minutes of that I said this is silly and changed the channel….ARGH!

So anyways…watching The Soup Friday night really flipped things in perspective for me and made me realize why should I give a crap what Rosie says cuz she is just not dealing with a full deck….The Soup showed a clip of The View, with new co-host Rosie-gone-loco-O’ Donnell, the topic was diaper rash….Rosie’s cure for diaper rash....a “doctor” told her that if your baby has diaper rash, find a friend whose dog has recently had a liter of puppies, invite the dog over, expose the child and the mama dog would lick the diaper rash and cure it….Rosie said it works and I have four kids to prove it!! So umm why was I caring what she says about Christians when she is having a dog lick her children’s diaper rash??? She clearly has issues and will make a baffoon of herself all on her own!!

Anyways…so that was Friday….Saturday husband finally fixed our bed frame so that we could attach the foot board too….so now the bed is altogether and we have a tall bed…I love a tall bed!! When I sit on the edge my feet totally dangle off the floor….I’m a dork but I like a tall bed! Lol

Umm so oh we went to the flea market…not my usual flea market but ok so the flea market I usually go to is actually one in a chain of flea markets…so there is a flea market by the same name in several towns…the one nearer our house, we’d been to before but it wasn’t nearly as good as my happy place here in LA (near my work). So we went to the other one and it has greatly improved (it’s more filled with antiques than shabby chic but that works too!) and it’s bigger! So yay! Now I have two happy places and also ya know those stars ya see on people’s houses? I found some for a reasonable price!!! Yay! I get excited over the little things lol….

So umm then Saturday night I had a karaoke party to go to….it was so much fun! The lady whose house it was at made lasagna and everyone brought a little something…the food was yum and the hostess is a NUT and very entertaining…we really had a ball!

Sunday….Sunday school was good…we had a somewhat good discussion although there a couple of ladies who are odd balls and one in particular has some odd views….but both of them constantly compete for the floor…I think they both like to talk just to hear their own voice…sometimes I wish they’d just keep quiet ya know…but anyways….me and another lady sat at one end and we kinda whispered and giggled a lot…so good Sunday school class….then husband and I had Children’s Church…every time we have Children’s church, the kids tell us that we are their favorite CC teachers…husband tends to think it is because we let them run a little wild…lol…so we tried to control them a little bit better this time…but I always hold the theory that if you are having fun you learn a lot more…so first we read (I let them take turns reading) the whole Chapter 15 of Matthew (the parable of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son) and then we discussed it and then I had them act out the prodigal son while I read it again. Then we made “lost coin” necklaces – basically we colored big circles on yarn- husband drew a clock on his and said he was Flava Flav…lol…nerd! But it is sometimes hard for me to get motivated to do CC, but we always have a great time with it…and it’s a total blessing!!

So umm after church we headed to the Ville to get my birthday present and have dinner…we went to Target and then we met mom and dad at Cheddars – yum!- and then we came home…I read and took a nap…husband’s dad came down and they stayed out in the barn…then I was awakened by little angels singing – sister and I-man and FAB(?) called to sing happy birthday to me…so I talked to I-man until he said well I better let you go….then I talked to sister and then I talked to I-man some more and to sister some more….I just can’t get over how quickly I-man is growing up…he’s all of a sudden (it seems) this little man!! Goodness gracious!! So then I read some more – once I get into a book, it’s hard for me to do anything else lol – and waited patiently until it started to get dusky outside then we went outside to burn my birthday present….anyone (except for sister cuz I told her already lol) guess what I got??? If you guessed a fire pit then you win umm…the knowledge that you are a good guesser! Lol

So well I guess I’ve journaled enough for now…I’m going to email this to myself and post it later in the day….toodles!
