Tales of a technological savvy hillbilly and other ramblings....(How's that for a title? lol)

My husband got a new cell phone with his new job and it has all kinds of fancy functions on there…he enters his time on there and gets job info sent right to his phone etc….It’s really fancier than any phone I’ll ever need lol…I’m still stuck in the stone ages. I talk on my cell phone as little as possible and text messaging annoys me…having to press in all those keys…now I could get in to one of the phones that like projects a keyboard for text messaging…but really who am I going to text message???!! Lol

Anyways, husband is off work the rest of the week for the Farm Show…his dad came down last night. So husband and I got to spend a little bit of quality time this morning, which is unusual because he’s usually gone before I’m even half way functional in the morning. So we were sitting in the breakfast room (I think that is the name that is going to stick with the “blue room”) we’re sitting in the breakfast room…I’m cuddled in my big fluffy chair that I have in there with a blanket longing to go back to bed but trying to wake up and husband was sitting at the breakfast table and we were talking and his phone beeped at him. One of the guys from work sent him a text message “What’s going on?” Husband takes ten minutes (ok a little exaggeration) to type back “It’s cold”… a little bit later his phone beeps again ”True BF”. I said aww does he call you BF for best friend? Lol husband told me it stood for Big Foot (husband wears a size 18 shoe – have I ever mentioned that?) So the rest of the morning I kept saying you are my BFF (best friends forever) …lol….but anyway, it was just funny to see my big ole hillbilly of a husband text messaging!! Funny!

So Friday we did our quick trip to Ohio right after work. It was so nice to visit everyone at the Dock! We had a great time! All the way up there husband and I were debating on whether to spend the night or just come back home. Husband wanted to work on his truck and he kept whining that he just wasn’t in the mindset of being away all weekend….plus we were almost out of dog food so he was afraid the doggies would be starving by Saturday afternoon and also since our main heat source is the wood pellet stove, it has to be fed pellets every so often to keep it going. So even though I wanted to go house hunting with mom and dad on Saturday, I was also ok to just go back home, because I had stuff around the house to do too…SO, before we got to the Dock we decided that we were going to just go home afterward. Well, just a little bit before we got to the Dock, husband’s dad called and told husband about a farm machinery sale in Hillsboro on Saturday….husband:”perk!” lol….so I teased him that now he’d want to stay but he didn’t really say anything about changing his mind. So I was in the mindset that we were going home. Halfway through dinner and visiting (and also I might note – way passed husband’s bedtime of 9:00) husband leans over and asks “so are we staying or are we going?” Argh! I told him I thought we’d already decided that! He kept being fickle and kept saying whatever you want to do dear etc. Wishy washy wishy washy….so a little after 10:00 we said our goodbyes and let everyone that we were heading back to KY that night. When we got outside I said ok, now we can really make the decision….lots of yawning and eye rubbing from husband….we decided to go to mom and dads after all…lol

And I’m glad we did cuz they picked out a house! And it is so pretty. It was so funny because Saturday was their first time seeing it. They were actually all set to offer on another house. But the realtor had several houses for them to see so we went to the first house and a few others (that very much resembled the Brady Bunch’s house!) and then we ended up at the house that they were pretty set on. I didn’t really like it. Husband met up with us at that house and he didn’t really like it either. Also, the people smoked a lot in their house (which is their prerogative) but the smell was really strong and mom was in the house long enough this time that the smell actually mad her sick. So the realtor told us he actually had to swing by the first house again because he had accidentally taken the lock box. So we all decided to go look at that house again. Something about it when we walked in the front door that time felt like home! So we all looked at the house again with a lot more excitement this time, and long story short (umm too late?) mom and dad will soon be the proud owners of that house!

It was a really fun day though…running around with mom and dad and spending some one on one time with Gracie…I really feel like I had some good bonding time with her this past weekend….I missed the other two but Gracie got my undivided attention and that was nice!

Anyway, a little while later we actually did head home to KY and had a leisurely evening. We got home before dark, the pellet stove was still blowing out heat, the house was fine, and the doggies were healthy and happy!

Sunday – Sunday school was great (except for the few big mouths who talked off-topic every time the teacher opened it up for discussion – argh! But seriously, there is one lady that is really dealing with some boundary issues and she is in need of prayers). Our lesson was from Colossians and there is a passage where Paul is sending prayers to the church at Colossians and it is just a really powerful prayer that we should be saying daily for each other. I will post the exact scripture reference later. It was really great!

And worship service was really great too. I just love that Preacher P so much…he has such a way about him that is just so comfortable and Godly. His family sings southern gospel music and they are having a live recording at our church on March 3 (or 4th?) I can’t remember but I will post it again in case anyone is interested in coming down to hear them sing and be a part of the live recording.

Well…it’s about lunch time and I think I’m going to the flea market to walk around….I may journal more later….and I owe ya’ll some pictures too!

De colores!

I thought you were going to stay away from the flea market b/c of your addiction? :)

That's funny about Jimmie text messaging and size 18? Holy Moses! I didn't know those sizes existed! LOL.

I'm glad you had a good time up here and that you got to go house hunting with your parents. I"ll have to ask Missy where the new house is.

Well, try and stay warm! :) Love ya!

Holy Cow Batman....those are some large shoes. You know what they say about large feet....large socks! LOL!

Sounds like your addiction to the flea market has gotten out of control. Is there a group for people like you?!?!?

I'm glad you got to do the house hunting with your parents. Sorry they are moving....but you got a say in the house! LOL!

I HATE those arguments....we have them a lot too!

Lots of Love!
