I went to a Gala...how fancy am I? lol

Well I really hate to say it but I think the “divas” just didn’t stand out last night…I’m speaking about LaKisha and Melinda…don’t get me wrong…they sang the songs they picked beautifully but their song choices – to me- anyway were just blah…I mean…it was a pop category so they had a chance to be a little more current and they picked Love Boat disco songs…I totally disagreed with Simon though…I loved Melinda’s outfit! LaKisha looked great too…she reminds me a lot of Jennifer Hudson in her eyes… I was also really disappointed in the curly haired Chris…that was so boring…I really think he may in danger of going tonight if Sanjya doesn’t go away…I love a good conspiracy theory…so here’s one for ya…ok, so have ya’ll heard about this website that is aiming to drum up enough support to actually vote the worst singer to the end…I’ve also heard that Howard Stern has jumped on board with that campaign…which wouldn’t surprise me in the least….what if they have some sort of under the table deal with Sanjya to actually stink as much as he can each week to make it a spectacle? I’m sure there are rules about not having under the table deals but when I saw his hairdo last night, that made me think that it has to be a put on…because the kid can sing if he’d just apply himself seriously to that…It’s just a little bizarre…

I was just talking to a friend about this season of AI and she and I were commiserating at how miserable it is to watch this season because last season was so phenomenal – I just can’t get over that…it’s really depressing to watch it this year…argh…another thing we concurred about is that we can’t stand Phil…not sure why…I just can’t stand him…although last night, Phil came on and I began mumbling about how I don’t like him and husband told me to close my eyes…and I liked him much better…he actually almost sounded like Sting!

I have to say my favorite last night was Gina…I also really liked Blake…but mostly tonight I’m going to like seeing Gwen Stefani perform! I was proud of Jordin for taking on the song she did…she did pretty good too...in the end I voted for everyone except Haley (blah), Chris (curly hair) and of course Sanjya…that’s my pick for the bottom three this week….

Blah blah blah…there’s my Idol two cents…agree or disagree? Lol

So the Gala we went to Saturday night was fun…I just like to say that I went to a Gala…it sounds so pomp and circumstance…lol…it was actually in a barn at a winery in Poe Dunk Ville, USA but hey…we were all dressed up fancy and it’s actually a barn meant for special events so it’s all weather proof and painted white inside and really neat…the food was wonderful, the company was great, the music was ok…Mary Poppins sang to us a few songs…there was even a sing along to “Don’t sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me…”…corny to say the least! Lol…There was a silent auction and a live auction. We didn’t bid on anything, which was ok because things quickly got out of our price range! Lol….but anyway like I said, it was at a winery so of course we had to taste some wine – YUCK! Lol…I’m just not a wine drinker man…but we had a really fun time….I did win a door prize…I won an orchid…I’ll probably kill it…but for now it’s really pretty…those are such graceful flowers….

Umm…so other than that, we’ve just been enjoying the weather…doing stuff outside…except today of course cuz it’s a rainy day here….

I’m getting very excited about our Gatlinburg trip…although I have to admit I almost ditched that trip for a chance to go to Florida…husband called yesterday and asked if he could travel to a job in Florida for two weeks…I said only if I can come with you! Lol…He hadn’t a clue where it was or anything….by the time we both got home last night though they decided they didn’t need anyone after all…and besides the job was in the middle of state – hours from any beach…so I probably wouldn’t have went anyway…cuz all that really appealed to me was to lay on the beach all day while he was at work!!

But anyways…it’s about lunchtime…just thought I’d pop on for an AI rant and fill you in the oh so exciting life and times of me…lol…happy rainy Wednesday!
