I'm amazed my log-in still worked!! lol

Top 10 Reasons I have not journaled in weeks….

Reason #10. I painted my living room. Well all except for the fireplace wall. I’m toying with the idea of leaving it as an accent wall. The name of the color is Nacho Chip or Taco Chip – one or the other - and I must say I’ve never really seen a nacho chip this color. It’s sort of a dark tannish, yellowish, ecru color and white shabby chic accents go fabulous with the color .. *insert picture here* Oh wait…I haven’t taken one yet. One will follow this post, I promise! Lol

Reason #9. I’ve been in a nesting/decorative mood. See #10. New paint so I gotta have new décor, right? Brain twin back me up! Lol

Reason #8. I’ve had a cold. I slept most of last week away. I finally feel more “normal” today.

Reason #7. The Garden. Ok so the pole bean experiment was a bust and something is wrong with our green peppers this year. But our tomatoes – umm Jimmie fertilized a while back and let me tell ya something, each plant is producing like twice the tomatoes – and they are huge and juicy and yummy…I’ll email ya’ll some if ya like! Lol Seriously, I am going to start making salsa tonight….yum!

Reason #6. There was a two week jury trial at work that almost lasted three weeks, which meant a lot of late nights at work. When the jury finally got the case to deliberate, we were here til almost 11 p.m. that night!

Reason #5. ….So I couldn’t journal at work because when I was actually at my desk (because I sit in Court and keep the recording log and exhibits during the trial) I had to play catch-up…cuz life doesn’t stop around here just cuz we’re in trial….

Reason #4. VBS…which was a lot of fun except my attendance was hindered by #6. I only got to go 2 of the nights. Jimmie went for me one night and the first night, well we went to Ohio to see Michael in the hospital and we weren’t needed the last night.

Reason #3. As you all know, we’ve had a family emergency in our family this month. Sister has been doing a great job keeping you all posted on Michael’s condition and progress and we’ll never be able to thank enough the little girl that saved his life. One could totally see God’s handiwork there for sure! I’ll paste here an email update on Michael’s condition from my mother (dated July 30):

Hi All,
First of all, Michael's family wants to sincerely thank everyone for their prayers and concern for him.
I wanted to pass on the latest information that we know on Michael condition. He was moved to Miami Valley Hospital last week for rehab and further evaluation. He is doing very well there. The neurological doctor at Kettering told them Michael had suffered some permanent brain damage, of course we were all devastated by that news, but still do not understand totally what this means, because other doctors have told them they see no reason why he should not make a full recovery. Since going to Miami Valley for rehab, Michael has become more aware of everything around him. He is alert and smiling and talks non-stop as he tries to remember everything, which they are telling us is normal and part of the healing process. Claude and Barbara will be meeting with Michael's doctors on Tuesday to re-evaluate his condition and plan his continuing rehab. Michael says his goal is to be home in 30 days. He is not on any IV or monitors of any kind and it is amazing to see him up and walking around! He says he knows he is a miracle!!! Please keep the family in your prayers as they continue with rehab.

Sincerely,
Diana

Reason #2. I’m singing in church on August 12, so I’ve been practicing for that. Incidentally, I have chosen to sing a beautiful song by Avalon called Where Joy and Sorrow Meet. It is such a pretty song and the words are just powerful. I had never heard the song but I ordered a few accompaniment tracks from Christianbook.com and on there they have where you can play clips of the tracks before purchasing and this song just struck me so I ordered the track and I love the song! Here are the words:

There’s a place of quiet stillness ‘tween the light and shadows reach
Where the hurting and the hopeless seek everlasting peace
Words of men and songs of angels whisper comfort bittersweet
Mending grief and life eternal where joy and sorrow meet

Chorus:
There is a place where hope remains
In crowns of thorns and crimson stains
And tears that fall on Jesus’ feet
Where joy and sorrow meet

There’s a place the lost surrender and the weary will retreat
Full of grace and mercy tender in times of unbelief
For the wounded there is healing, strength is given to the weak
Broken hearts find love redeeming where joy and sorrow meet

There’s a place of thirst and hunger where the roots of faith grow deep
And there is rain and rolling thunder when the road is rough and steep
There is hope in desperation there is victory in defeat
At the cross of restoration where joy and sorrow meet

And Reason #1……….drum roll please………

I HAVEN’T JOURNALED BUT I’VE BEEN LURKING. lol

This statement is not completely true but was good for dramatic affect lol. But in my defense, see numbers 10 through 2…when have I had the time to lurk?? Lol (but I actually have lurked a little bit…)

Actually one activity that husband and I both have become completely obsessed with (get your minds out of the gutter!) is Spider Solitaire (computer game – you probably have it) – the difficult setting. That game kicks my butt! Lol Although in our house I have the high score and Jimmie has the most wins in a row, which he says is 3 but the statistics reflect only 2 wins in a row. He says that I played a game (and implying that I lost! Lol) in between his second and third win. I said prove it! lol…. Our collaborative percentage of winning the game is 7%...that’s right 7 out of 100 times we play the game, we win…I told you that game kicks my butt…I mostly just sit there and move cards around lol…

And I’ve purposely saved Big Brother ramblings for last….so for those that don’t watch Big Brother you may stop reading, and I bid you adieu. Even though I haven’t appeared on my journal for a while or even read many other’s journal entries, I must say -and this is truthful - you all (who are in our little “journal circle of friends”) have been in my heart and my prayers. (I had to say the “journal circle of friends” because honestly, if I don’t know you to be a “regular” reader of my journal, how would I know to have you in my heart and prayers? Except that, when I do journal something deep and meaningful on occasion, I do admit that I pray a general prayer that the Lord would touch someone through my words.) Anyway, I’m rambling and now I’m going to move on to Big Brother….

***BB Ramblings***

So I swore after last season that I’d never watch this show again. Husband even tried really hard to hold me to it…but alas, I’m hooked! Lol I have to say, this is the prettiest Big Brother house they’ve had…I just love the whole whimsical Alice in Wonderland type décor. I really don’t have a favorite person yet but I definitely have some opinions! Lol Jen drives me crazy, I don’t really like her; although after they sort of profiled her, I think her mother is right, Jen made a horrible first impression and that really hurt her but she is just a bizarre person. Kail annoys me too. She is kinda whiney. Umm Amber, I liked her and still do but my heavens that girl cries way too much! Lol Evel is way too confrontational and intense and he would make my stomach hurt if I were around him for any period of time, but for some reason, he doesn’t bug me for the most part. I don’t think I will root for him to win though. Nick is pretty and so is Danielle. I really like her. I also really like Eric and the whole America’s Player thing. Umm Jessica really got on my nerves at first but she’s growing on me….I do not like Zack though…

Anyway….this has become a book of an entry….see ya next month!! Er umm… hopefully it won’t be that long between posts though!
Toodles!

I thought we'd lost you! :) So good to hear from you again...

Sounds like a lot has been going on. You must have a very interesting job! I bet it's neat sometimes to sit in on these cases...

I'm totally with you about BB! Man, Brian and I just laugh anymore when they show Amber in the diary room since she's always crying! LOL. Jessica's not on my nerves at much anymore either, but her voice is so annoying!!! What do you think causes such a whiny voice? Ugghh!

Ok, glad to know you're alive! Don't let it be so long in between posts next time! Love ya!

WOW, busy brain twins!! LOL Glad you posted!! :) Still jealous of the tomatoes...hehehe

Ummm, of COURSE you need more new shabby things for your newly painted walls!! LOL As Abbey's saying now, "Well, Duh!!" Actually, we're not exactly proud that she's saying that, but secretly I think it's adorable!! LOL I have no idea where she heard it unless it was on Full House or something!! LOL

Anyways, LOVED your countdown format, too!! Too cute!! :)

I am sure that when you sing that song, you'll take their breath away!! Such a sweet voice!! :) The words to that song is beautiful, too...I love how some people can write a song using beautiful word pictures like that...Anyways, no doubt you'll do an awesome job!! :) All for His glory, too!! :)

Okay, nmj...Love ya, Brain Twin!!

LOVE the words to the song!

You are a busy woman! Are the court cases fun or is that just a "argh, another thing on the plate this week" type of thing. I would think that would be the best part of the job.

Yes, I would like you to blog me some veggies! lol!

I'm with ya on BB. I watched the first season and now this season. Jen's shirts absolutely get on my nerves. Does she have anything that doesn't have her name on them?!?!?!?

Ltos of Love!

Hey Stranger...I mean, Sister! LOL...I feel like it has been forever since I saw you last...but I guess it hasn't been that long! Things are just so hectic! We totally missed you on vacation and Dad and I looked at each other after we checked into the condo thingy and said..."Oh, I wish Jodi were here!!!" So, you guys do the same thing about me when you are in Gatlinburg and enjoying the lazy river...K? LOL

So much to read in your journal..I knew that trial was going on....sorry you were sick...Isaac and Faith Anne have both had some sort of bug over the last few weeks too. Hopefully the rest of us don't get it. LOVE Spider Solitare....but only on the easy setting because I can win that. LOL Loved the words of that song. I really like Avalon. They have some powerful songs!

BB...I agree with all you said. It will be interesting to see who goes home tonight. I didn't understand why everyone was so upset with Dustin (or is it Joe...?) for "buying" the trip and the money in the last POV contest. I would've done it too! I am not as "into" this season as others...but still hooked! I was cracking up the other night whenever Jameka would start talking and the choir sounds started....and then really...Amber...come on! I am a cryer, but she is out of control with the tears!!!

Well, I think I have journaled in your comments, so I better get...but wanted to tell you I miss you and love you very much!!!!
