Eleven years ago today....

Today is our 11th anniversary! Thank you very much! Not much planned though…we have that class bright and early in the morning so we don’t want to do anything that will keep us out too late…we’re old… plus what I’d really like to do for our anniversary is go the a history museum in Louisville that we’ve been wanting to go to but since our Saturdays are not ours for the next few Saturdays, we’ll do that another time…lol…

so anyways, I think I’m going to make Jimmie his favorite meal that he always asks me to make and I don’t know why I don’t make it very often because it’s uber easy – ravioli… but not like Chef Boyarde…it’s frozen ravioli that you bake with lots of cheese on top…it’s quite yum and really easy…so we’re going to have that…maybe we light a candle…and then we’ll spend the rest of the evening doing something that we did a lot of on our honeymoon….haha…gutter minds (except sister lol) I was kinda sick on our honeymoon so we didn’t really go anywhere…we just spent the week together hanging out and shopping and stuff…and Jimmie taught me how to play canasta…so we’re going to play cards together tonight!

This morning….Jimmie is always gone before I get up….but he left for me on our breakfast table a card and two presents. One of the presents was a new deck of cards and the other was a Princess Pez dispenser…cuz he’s my princess husband…lol…aww… Now I must admit I didn’t really get him anything…we’re just not like these gifting type people I guess….but anyways…so I have this rule…that if I give something as a gift and it doesn’t get actually opened and used…it’s fair game for re-gifting…I think I gave him this coin separator gadget thingy three Christmases in a row before he actually opened it up and started using it…lol…anyways so for his birthday I gave him the Ba Ba Black Sheep (really old tv series) dvd set he’d wanted since we found out it existed last year and when I ordered that, they had a new season out so I got that one too…I gave him both sets for his birthday and he’s only opened and started watching the first set. The second set is still in its wrapper…so that’s what he is getting for his anniversary present.

Oh here’s another funny thing. Last winter he bought a package of socks. And that package of socks has sat unopened in our bedroom collecting dust (not sure why he’d buy a package of socks and not use them but whatever). So, I can’t remember if I journaled this or not, but a few days before his birthday we were talking and I was telling him I was excited about what I got him for his birthday…and he totally guessed what I got him. Of course I fibbed and told him he was wrong so when I wrapped up his gift, to throw him off, and make him think I got him something different, I wrapped up the dvds with the socks. When he opened his present he about fell on the floor laughing because he got this dusty package of socks for a birthday present…it was funny…he just cracked up…lol…I love it when I do something to make my husband laugh like that!

Well…I’ve jabbered enough…ya’ll have a great weekend!

That is hilarious! I think that's great that you re-gift. I mean, really...sooner or later they will use it, right? lol!

And I was dying that you said you were going to do what you did on your honeymoon! I was like TMI!!! So yes, I DID have the gutter mind!

Congrats on 11 years!
Lots of Love!
