My Connection to Kevin Bacon

Are you familiar with the Kevin Bacon game... it's basically the theory that you know someone who knows someone who knows someone that knows Kevin Bacon... well, I was thinking about it this morning and recently my link to Kevin Bacon was made. We are having a jury trial at work and some of the attorneys on the case are from out of town. One attorney is from New York and has done work and currently still does work for one President and Mrs. Clinton. So he knows them and I know him and Hillary has been on SNL and I know Kevin Bacon has also been on SNL... so there ya go! lol

I'm a dork and these are the things that I think about in my head.

Follow my thinking here on this one too... and please do not think in any way that I am comparing Hillary and Bill to Jesus... because well never mind... but anyway I recently read that book Heaven is for real about the little boy who momentarily left his body and went to Heaven. His dad, who is a preacher, was just so excited to actually know someone who had actually met Jesus in person. He believes in Jesus and knows He is real but to actually talk to someone who has talked with Him in person was like that much more confirmation of his beliefs. That's a fraction of how I feel when I talk to someone who knows famous people personally. There is something about famous people, particularly Bill and Hillary, it's almost like they are non-people or larger than life people ya know. But to talk to someone who knows them and has, for example, sat down to lunch with them, it's like it makes them real people... does that make sense? I know sometimes my logic can be hard to follow lol...

ok that was a great book too by the way - Heaven is for real... I have no doubt that the kid had an unexplicable experience but I'm also torn because there is that story in the Bible about the rich man who died and went to Hell and once he got there and realized it was real and nightmarish, he wanted to go back to warn his friends but wasn't allowed. Anyway... a really basic thing I took from the book was - well actually there are a few basic things I took from the book. Colton, the little boy, was extremely adamant about the fact that Jesus really really LOVES the little children and it gave his parents a new respect and a new love and understanding of the importance of children's ministry. Also, one really basic thing that the preacher and his wife do in their evening prayers with their children is each night they specifically and purposefully pray for someone else. A simple thing really that I should have already thought of myself but now each night with Matthew and Cali, before they prayer I bring up someone who we need to pray for. And I'm telling you what, it is a precious thing to hear these little ones pray their simple little prayers and to know how fervently Jesus loves them. It's actually humbling that He has placed them in our care.

Anyway... that's my two cents... hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend...
