::singing:: I don't wanna work...I want to bang on the drum all day....

Ok so I’m going to try and not be so wordy in this entry…that last entry was very very long…I musta been in the mood to type that day lol

Umm…ok so I left off on Wednesday…husband often accuses me of my life revolving around television…lol…of course I then accuse him that his life revolves around tractors…lol…it’s a vicious circle. And I do try to limit the programs that I allow myself to get attached to because I do recognize that I love to watch television…but too much of something is unhealthy…yada yada yada…I’ve gone so far as having the cable turned off in the past because I just get distracted by it! ugh…anyways…

So Wednesday night they have moved the Amazing Race there too…so I watched that while taping my soap opera that I’ve totally gotten pulled back into (they play that day’s episodes at night on Soap net) and then I was taping American Idol while watching LOST (I really need to get digital satellite lol…does it tape even when the power is off?) Because that’s what happened…at 9:15…IN THE MIDDLE OF LOST (I’m a total LOST FANatic) the power went out…I just sat there…umm…husband?....lol…it was very dark…it gets unbelievably dark in the boonies when the power goes out…I couldn’t even see my hand in front of my face….husband was on the phone with his cousin but I thought he was just rattling with his dad (a lot of the time they call each other and say nothing much in particular) so I started complaining for him to get off the phone…lol…he was like what am I going to do about it? so he eventually got off the phone and we called our power company and they were doing an outage to do some repair work from the storm the other night…grrr they could have told us….they said it would be back on by 11 pm or so…I think it came back on around 1:30ish because we awoke to the tv on and several lights on…anyways…so I sat in a chair with some candles lit because I was going to go to bed but I wanted to call mom at 9:30 to see who got voted off AI…(aren’t you glad to know all this rambling in detail lol)

Well I was having the beginnings of a cold or sinus stuff so I wasn’t feeling well anyway…the power outage was actually a blessing because I was ready to go to bed around 7…but anyway…I forgot what I was waiting for and so I crawled into bed and the phone rang about 5 minutes later and it was mom…I was so glad she called because I forgot that I wanted to call her…lol…and she told me the news about Mandissa…I gotta say I was a little surprised…but it seems like every season this happens…a big shocker around this time in the competition…so I wasn’t totally blown away…at first when I asked who got voted off she said you don’t want to know…and I was afraid it was Chris…he’s my choice to win…and she said Mandissa…and I was a little surprised but she’s not done great the last couple of weeks so I wasn’t totally shocked…she’s very talented and I’m sure she will have no problem getting a contract…I’m with Queen…I hope she does a gospel album….I was surprised to hear that Elliott was in the bottom three though…I just really like his voice and I like Chris’ voice…and Taylor is good too…I think it is going to be a very tough competition from here on out and I’m sure there will be a lot of shocking weeks to come…I really think that especially Bucky and Ace…they should probably have gone before Mandissa…but Bucky has some quality that I cannot quite put my finger on that makes me like him and say bless his heart…some good ole boy quality maybe…I dunno…lol…I’m not a fan per se but I like him…but he should go soon…lol…anyways…yada yada yada…

So I did do “chores” Wednesday too…I’m not a total couch potato…lol…me and the dogs took a nice long walk when I got home…husband joined us on the last lap…it was such a pretty day! And then I put away some laundry and cooked dinner….just domestic stuff…nothing fancy…lol

Our dog Trinity barked and howled ALL NIGHT LONG Wednesday night….right outside the bedroom window…she woke us up a lot…at one point I asked what she was barking at, because it’s actually very out of character for her to bark like that so husband would get up and look and then he’d open the door and pet her and tell her to shoosh…when he came back to bed he said that the only thing he could figure is that she was barking at Wednesday because it wouldn’t leave and make room for Thursday…lol

Yesterday (Thursday) I was feeling way under the weather…sinus stuff or trying to catch a cold stuff and maybe lack of sleep!…I knew there was not a lot going on at work so I stayed home and slept mostly…I feel much better today…

We’re supposed to get another batch of storms tonight…

Oh that’s what husband did while I was taking a walk on Wednesday…I guess this last batch of storms and seeing all the damage around us kind of scared him because he reinforced the door on our root cellar and we have plans of getting a “Jodi” box (that’s a very large Rubbermaid box in our family lol) and fill it with stuff like blankets and flash lights and battery radio in case we have to evacuate to it in a storm…I guess this storm season is supposed to be a pretty bad one…so it’s good to be prepared…we also look at it this way….our house has stood right where it’s at for 130+ years…so it probly isn’t going anywhere…lol…but it’s good to be prepared…

Ok a couple of clarification things…Kelley asked why sister and I keep referring to this lady as “should-be-our-aunt” or “should-be-our-uncle’s-gf”….our uncle (our mother’s youngest brother) has dated, lived, with, and now broken up with but still lives with this really awesome lady for approximately 8 years now….he’s 40-something and been single all his life….she’s late 30’s early 40’s? and has become a part of our family…we love her! And we think it’s high time he made her an honest woman! Lol…but ya can’t make yourself love someone…but he’s made it very tough on himself if he does find someone new…because our family would be not be very accepting of someone new because we love this lady sooo much and we all think he should wise up!

And…I know it’ll come up…so the “Jodi” box thing is an inside joke…back when I was in college…my sophomore year when packing to go back to school…I came up with this brilliant idea to just put all my belongings in this HUMOUNGUS box….the box was bigger than a box that a refrigerator comes in…it was HUGE and square…well…the first obstacle, after I had filled the box to the rim…was getting it out of my bedroom at home…which was on the second floor…then getting it into the van….and then once at my dorm…getting it to THE THIRD FLOOR…oh yeah…and THERE WAS NO ELEVATOR! Lol can we say nerd? As I’m typing this though I wonder why no one stopped me? Lol Anyways…since then, we’ve had laughs about it and any large storage tub has come to be called a “Jodi” box…

Ok…I’m in danger of having a very long entry again…so I’ll go…toodles…

prayers for all the journal goddesses and everyone whose lives they touch throughout the day….

Hey! I'm really glad you all made it through the storm the other night! How rude that your power went out during Lost and AI????? Only Satan would do something so evil! ha ha.

I think it's so cute about I-Man and your hubby. I read in Mac-N-Cheese's journal about I-Man crying the other night for him. How sweet! And I'm with you on the intelligence factor with him getting them back to your parents house. What a very smart kid! My hubby can't even find his way home sometimes! :) Have a great weekend!

LOL, the "Jodi" box sounds like something I would've tried, too!! LOL

Glad your electricity's back on, and I've been praying for safety for everyone who's in the path of these storms...Just remember the words from the Chris Tomlin song "Indescribable"..."Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go?" I keep repeating that to myself when the lightning seems to get really bad...no power outages here, yet, but the older I get, the more scared of storms I get...I wasn't afraid of storms when I was little...how weird...

Okay, better go...Talk to ya later:)

I am literally sitting at my desk at work CRACKING Up reading your journal! You are so goofy!!! I SO remember the "Jodi" box! I have a visual of us standing at the back of the van on campus and wondering how in the world we were going to get that thing up those stairs. How funny! Yeah, why didn't anyone stop you??!?!?

I also cracked up at Buford saying the dog was barking at Wednesday to make room for Thursday. Too funny!

Love ya Sister and glad you are feeling better!

I had to read the whole Buford and the dog like 3 or 4 times before I got it. I'm thinking I'm getting back into reality and real words now and I'm having a hard time understanding things! LOL!

I WAS going to ask what a Jodi box was and when you explained it, I about peed in my pants. I DO THE SAME THING....AS AN ADULT!!!! When we moved from TN to OH, people were amazed at how heavy some of our boxes were. When they would ask, I said "books". I mean, tubs and tubs filled to the brim with books. Some of those boxes weighed more than some of our furniture! LOL!

Oh, I thought this journal entry was going to be short....kind-of like my comment, right?

Lots of Love!

Whoa! Kelley had boxes of books? (Can I have them??!! lol) Don't tell her I asked, okay?

I do the same Jodi box thing every time I move. I get the biggest boxes I can find because "look at all the stuff I can get in there!" totally forgetting that wimpy me must lift this two-ton-heavy-thing!

Hope you are feeling better and rested up over the weekend!
