What's up chicken butt!

What’s up chicken butt! (my sister says that doesn’t rhyme…lol)

So umm…hi and stuff…it’s been a while since my last entry…I had a very busy fun weekend…

FRIDAY. straight after work on Friday we headed to Marion’s Pizza…and we actually got there on time…I was afraid we’d be a little late…lol…so anyways…we partied a little bit with the birthday girl and all the family that came….there was a lot of family there! It was great to see everyone…I was disappointed that Little Daisy didn’t make an appearance, but the doctor told Daisy not to take her out for a month…so Big Bear stayed home with the little peanut ( I wish we had a picture of that! Lol)

Anyways…so then we left the party early because as it turned out Diddley “unplugged” was playing at the Dock in Enon that evening. (Diddley is the name of my uncle and should-be-my-aunt’s band. They play mostly classic rock and some country.) Buford and I hadn’t had an opportunity to see them live yet so we were excited to check them out. Sister and BIL decided to come with us…so YAY….we had a double date…plus they knew where the Dock is so bonus…lol!! We had a great time and a great visit…my niece and nephew are so stinking cute I can barely take my eyes off them when they are around so it was nice to visit with sister and BIL in a “grown up” setting…lol…anyway…should-be-my-aunt can SANG man…I knew that she had an awesome voice cuz ya know, we all sing at reunion and they’ve sang a little bit for us and also, I have their cd…but I had never heard her live and in front of a real audience…Uncle’s guitar playing is so beautiful too and of course he can SANG too…but they were very professional…I was impressed! Uncle was telling us about how the whole band has a new “gig” and the first time they walked in there…they just walked in and the place went crazy clapping for them and he said from the first note strummed people were dancing….I could tell he was very excited and it was exciting to hear how successful they are being…my grandpa would have been sooooo proud!!! It was so funny because when we walked into the restaurant area where they were set up…I was like…there’s my family…and they waived at us and people were looking…it was a really fun feeling!! Lol…you’d think our meals would have been free!!! Lol…not hardly!!….but the food was yum! Ok I’ve rambled enough about that…lol….

So mom and the angelkids were asleep when we got back to her house…it was late so we went to bed too….

SATURDAY. got up the next morning and husband and I-man took off for some “male bonding” lol…husband wanted to go to Lowe’s and then they were in pursuit of a store that carried toy tractors…so they went to TSC in Xenia because that’s the only place hubby could think of and after they left TSC hubby found himself in an area that he wasn’t familiar with but I-man recognized where they were and knew how to get back to mom’s…so husband followed I-man’s directions all the way back to mom’s!!!! Now I may be partial but that is amazing for a four and a half year old I think! He’s a stinking genius!!! Lol (non-partial aunt talking!!)

While the boys were gone mom and I got some good FAB bonding time…that little girl is such a cutie pie oh my heavens…I really think that the next kid is gonna probably be not as cute cuz you’d think that between I-man and FAB all the cuteness is gone…lol…

So husband and I left from mom’s to go have lunch…we were indecisive but I finally said Frisch’s…they were still serving the breakfast bar and I love the breakfast bar…so we went there (oh husband was whiney on Friday night because we ended up ordering the same thing and he was whiney at Frisch’s because he didn’t find a few of his favorite things on the breakfast bar. Turns out they were there he just didn’t look hard enough…once he found them he was a happy camper) anyways…we ran into a couple that go to the church that sister and I were raised in. It was so good to see them! Anyway…I mentioned to husband that we should find out if they are having an Easter Sunrise service…so the next time he went by there he said something to them…on their way out they stopped by our table and told me the time for the service and the breakfast and after they left I got all teary eyed told husband that I’d really like to do that…I was teary because all these happy good memories just washed over me as I thought about Easter Sunrise services of the past at that church…it’s been a tradition for years and it was something that we always did…and it was just overwhelming…and of course I got teary eyed about it lol….so I’m not a morning person one bit but we are planning on going to our old church Easter morning…and I’m excited!

Umm so then what…oh we both needed stuff at Wal-Mart…so we went there and then we just meandered through places we hadn’t been in a long time….oh no wait before that….I called Daisy to see if we could come by and meet the new little one….so we did….it was such a blast down memory lane to pull up to their house (Daisy and Big Bear have bought the house of her childhood). The renters really messed the house up but they are getting it back into shape! And my new cousin is beautiful!! Her web pictures really don’t do her justice! She has very long fingers which either means she is going to play basketball or be a concert pianist. Grandpa T was there too and he said he was thinking she’d play softball but ok…lol…but anyway…I just sat there holding her and staring at her…she’s just this little bundle of peacefulness…what a blessing!

So then after we left there we sort of meandered through all these places we hadn’t been for a while…we had a reception to be at that evening so we had plenty of time to kill…

Husband and I are very much country people and we like to see open land. Now I know that everyone is not like us and I’m not saying that city people are bad or anything like that…everyone has their own taste and everyone has to live somewhere….but one of the things that husband and I agree upon is we prefer rural areas and are heartbroken when we see all these housing developments where beautiful farm land used to be….and we saw a lot of that on our drive…we ended up driving by my childhood home…growing up, there were at the most 20 houses on that road….now I’d say there are at least 50 to 80 homes on our little country road…

We met his dad in the town we used to live in because husband needed to give him some tractor parts that need to be worked on….and then we meandered some more, killing time until the reception…In high school I dated the son of a dairy farmer….this family had a beautiful old farmhouse and a huge beautiful farm with this wonderful woods and a creek running through it…just a gorgeous piece of property…we drove by where that used to be…twenty or so houses on it now…and the only clue that an old farm used to be there is some old barn remnants…

When I was little there was this book about this little house that stood through all this progress that happened around and in the end they moved the house out of the city back to a little place in the country…I don’t remember the name of the book but it was always one of my favorites and even when I was little that book hurt my heart! I’m a nerd I know…but it’s just sad to me to see beautiful property divided and built on every possible square inch of space…ugh

Ok…I’ll stop rambling about that…it just hurt my heart to see that place gone! Ok enough…lol

Anyway…we got to the reception early! First ones there and last ones to leave!! Lol…it was a really nice reception…husband acted like a drunk man...he said he was showing me how to make friends (I’m VERY backward and he’s very much the opposite and overly forward lol) I was wondering if someone spiked his Mountain Dew…he was acting like a loon lol….but we had fun…and the bride and groom were glowing…it was really very sweet….

We finally made it home around 11:00 or so…and we were both pretty pooped…I tried to stay up and watch SNL but I really just fell asleep in the recliner…lol…

SUNDAY. It was REALLY hard to get up for church on Sunday…but I did and we made it to Sunday School…more Solomon stuff…it was very good…and church was very good too…Preacher P gives the best sermons…he just truly has a gift…

After church, we went to dinner with mom and dad and then came home and I napped and husband did stuff outside…lol…umm…I can’t remember too much else about Sunday…lol…oh wait…oh that’s right…ugh…10 minutes into Desperate Housewives, the weather people cut in – right after a commercial break – I thought it was going to be one of those quick cut ins and I said grrrr why couldn’t he wait until the next commercial break…he’s just being spiteful…husband was giggling at my tantrum…the weather guy didn’t go away….husband went to bed….I kept an eye on the weather guy…they ran a ticker that said that DW would be show at 11:35…grrr…weather guy didn’t go away and began to get my attention…there were tornado warning and straight line wind advisories….when the storm got to us I woke husband up in case we had to dash off to the root cellar…he grumbled…then the electricity went off…long story short…we were ok….but our electricity didn’t come on until 10:30 the next day….our neighbors didn’t fair so well..one neighbor’s entire two-car+ garage was totally off it’s foundation and laying on it’s side….and C-town looks like a mini tornado hit it…we were very blessed…we had a few tiles off the back of the house (not the new part) and that was it….

MONDAY. Ok…I’m sorry this entry is soooo freaking long! Dang!! But I went to the doctor on Monday to see about all our tests (I had to go to mom and dad’s to get ready cuz of no electricity at our house)…husband’s was normal and she thinks I’m just not ovulating…so we’re gonna try Chlomid for 3 months and then re-evalute if I don’t turn up pregnant…she also upped my dosage of Glucophage…

Also…dad gave me the stuff to remove wallpaper so I started playing with that on Monday…I’m getting the hang of it!

TUESDAY. I had to go back in on Tuesday because there was some blood work she wanted done on me…so there’s that update…keep your fingers crossed for us!! Lol

Also…stripped more wallpaper border…thank heavens they didn’t put whole wall wallpaper anywhere…ugh! The DIF really makes it easy though!

WEDNESDAY. I’m at work and the day is young! Lol…I’ll post my AI ramblings another time…I think I’ve said plenty in this entry lol…

Ok I better end this entry before it becomes a book…may be too late…lol…

First of all, you crack me up....you were like "baby stuff, wallpaper, baby stuff, wallpaper". I was laughing out loud! The ovulation is my problem. Glucophage is a drug for diabetics that is now been known to help with pregnancy! I've only used it a month, but I've heard great reports on it!

Sounds like you've had a wonderful weekend. And what is this "should be girlfriend" of your uncle's? Mac-N-Cheese and you both mentioned that. What's the deal?

Don't worry about cuteness, you're baby will be HILARIOUS....and of course it will be cute!!!

Lots of Love!

Ohhhhhh, I wish I had gotten to you sooner...Daisy & BB used fabric softner & water in a spray bottle to get all their wallpaper off, and WOW, it worked SO MUCH BETTER than the DIF we used on this place!! And, MUCH cheaper, too!! (They even used the off-brand softner)...Anyways, who knew?!?! LOL

Okay, better go...Talk to ya later:)

Or a vinegar/water combo works well too. If you can stand the smell of vinegar! But you go with the DIF! I love home improvements, so make sure you post some pictures for me!

Will keep you and the baby making in my prayers. Happy that you had grownup time with sister.

Love in Faith,
Josy
