Monday's Ramblings.....

I chickened out…lol…but not completely because I intend to someday soon make an appointment…

So here are my excuses…lol….first of all…I got to thinking that a fund raiser cut-a-thon probably isn’t the best time to have the full attention of the stylist for talking to them and trying something new because they are probably attempting to get to as many people as possible….and also, in Sunday School yesterday morning, I found out that a woman that I very much do not like…can’t stand actually….was also going to be cutting hair…I did not even realize that she was a beautician…anyway…I figured it would be my luck (and the Lord trying to teach me a lesson in tolerance) that I’d walk in and everyone else would be very busy and she’d be waiting for me….lol…

So no new hair cut….and actually, as per usual when I’m thinking of chopping off my hair, I’ve had good hair days….lol…plus I really like the versatility of long hair (I actually do where it down most days to work)…but enough excuses…lol…blah blah blah….do ya’ll really want to hear more of this dilemma? Lol I think not….

I had a great weekend….Friday, before I left for work I’d put a couple of chicken breasts in the crock pot so when I got home the house smelled yum….I had to take husband to pick up his $50.00 truck (he bought this old farm truck from our neighbor a while back for $50.00….it runs and gets better gas mileage than his duelly)…he was looking to have some work done on it but found out that it needs more work than the truck is worth…lol…so anyway…after I dropped him off at his truck, I went to the grocery and got the stuff to make dumplings…I had actually planned to put the chicken in a broccoli casserole….but we decided we wanted dumplings instead….so then I also picked up the stuff to make this new recipe for peach cobbler….my husband is a peach cobbler freak…so I decided to experiment with this easy new recipe….I’ll have to share it…but as usual, I’m journaling at work and it is not in front of me….but anyway….it calls for a can of Mountain Dew…so as I was putting that together, I was thinking, oh man…this is a concoction if I ever saw one!…lol….but it was de-lic-ous!! Husband even said that it was better than Aunt BJ’s….hahahaha!!!!! she has been de-throned as the peach cobbler queen!!!!! Lol ok sorry for that outburst…I’m a dork…lol

So anyways ummm…Saturday I slept in a little bit…got up had my breakfast, had some coffee….it was so pleasant outside temperature wise….so I went and hung out in the hammock for a little bit….the coffee kicked in and I went on a cleaning rampage….I dusted…I purged junk….I organized…three and a half rooms worth of cleaning…ALL of the laundry cleaned and PUT AWAY….I’m not sure I’ve ever had all my clothes put away at once!! Lol what has gotten into me???!!…I put some favorite cd’s on and danced too…lol…husband was working outside…he tilled the garden and mulched and later on I went out and pulled weeds until it got dark…half our garden looks really nice…I’m proud of us…usually by now weeds have taken over….I will have to take a picture…but I did say half the garden looks nice…the other half…well not so much…for one thing we have monster squash plants…lol…so they just look volumous….but also that is the part of the garden that husband decided to try a growing experiment which involves circles of corn and beans…only he didn’t mark it well so it’s hard to tell what is veggie plant and what is weed…there isn’t an obvious pattern so it’s rather chaotic…but hopefully we’ll get that side under control too…if not, we will still have plenty out of the good half of the garden…we have baby baby tomatoes…they won’t be ready probably for at least two or three weeks….but we have spotted tomatoes!!!! My mouth is watering already!! NOTHING beats a fresh tomato right out of the garden….that is definitely a heavenly gift from God!!! And I love the smell of a tomato plant…isn’t that weird…just the organic tomato plant smell….it’s the smell of summer I think….

So umm…Sunday….church…we had a guest speaker….they call him the Cowboy Preacher…and he was great! Really good preaching! Sunday School (which is before church service…not sure why I journal about them backwards lol) but anyways…Sunday school was good…we had a really good turn out and a really good discussion…minus the blabbering from that woman I don’t like…I really need to work on my attitude about her…it’s bad…she is annoying and I feel right that she aggravates me and others but it’s not right if I can’t get passed her and focus on worshipping and participating in church…so I need God’s help in this area…I recognize that…but I can’t stand her!! Argh….you see my dilemma…I know it’s wrong but I can’t see how I can get passed my feelings…I dunno….grrr…

Anyways….at the end of the service the Cowboy Preacher had the whole congregation come forward to pray and hold hands and just be in one accord…it was a really great time of worship and prayer! (yep this is from the same chick who had such an attitude problem in Sunday School…lol)….

So then we came home and had lunch and then husband said that I either had to get my pool out of the barn or he was going to throw it away….let me back up…a few weeks ago….when it got so chilly…I noticed my pool was growing algae…and since I only paid $15.00 for it…I thought rather than put chemicals in it, I would just dump it out…clean it and put it back up….but since it got chilly (a few weeks ago mind you….and then last week was way too hot to do anything with it)…it’s been sitting in the barn right in the doorway….right in husband’s way….I’m actually surprised that he didn’t complain sooner…lol…but anyway…it’s bulky so I whined that I needed to wash it but it is too bulky for me to handle myself…so we both went out and washed it and then put it back up….the water was cold yesterday but it was hot outside so it felt really good!! So I lounged in and by my little pool…I may get a chlorine floaty thing today just to keep it cleaner….

Later we had dinner on the porch and just enjoyed being outside…the temperature was much more pleasant…

So there’s my weekend in a nutshell…hope everyone had a great weekend as well…next weekend is a FOUR DAY WEEKEND….WAHOOOOOO….that will super nice! Plus Sister and BIL are coming so YAYAYAYAYAY….we may have a mini-campout…dad has been wanting to take I-man camping so I said if the weather is nice…maybe they could come over and camp in our field! But they could probably also have a really nice camp-out behind mom and dad’s house…

Hope everyone has a blessed week!!

Yeah...Dad made the mistake of mentioning the camp-out to I-Man on Saturday morning and it was SET IN STONE in his mind! He talked about it ALL DAY, so there is no way that Dad could change his mind!!

And I agree about the fresh-from-the-garden tomoatoes...nothing better!

I knew you wouldn't get your hair cut! I know you too well! I'm telling you..come up and have Gary cut it! He won't butcher it. He is very sensitive to that...and he is married....he is a GREAT guy! His band "Alligator Stew" is playing at the Fraize Pavillion next week.....pretty cool!

Have a great day! Love ya!
