Happy Monday (isn't that an oxymoron?)

Happy Monday chickas! First of all may I just say, since I haven’t journaled since before the BB7 vote on Thursday…..

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO ding dong the witch is gone!!! Lol…Sunday’s episode was so much nicer since we didn’t have to look at her (Allison)….the next obnoxious person I want gone is Will… I do not get why he thinks he’s all that….ugh…he’s just way too arrogant…I’m not sure I watched BB much the year he was on there…when BB first came on I thought, how boring to sit around and watch people sitting around…lol…but now I’m hooked! Last night, the whole Howie training Chicken George to be a Jedi bit was hilarious to me!

Anyways….blah blah blah BB….I could type a lot more but if you aren’t a BB fan, or even if you are, I don’t want to be boring!! Lol

So umm…let’s see…this past weekend was way too hot to do much of anything! Saturday, husband had a guy coming from Maryland to pick up a tractor….he had this old Minneapolis Moline that he and his father bought a while back with visions of making a pulling tractor out of it….well, years have gone by and they haven’t done anything with it so they decided to put it on the internet for sale (on some pulling tractor parts swap site) so this guy from Maryland bought it and he came to pick it up….well FIL had half the parts in Ohio so he had to bring them down too….the guy was supposed to be here early Sunday morning to pick everything up. FIL works on Saturdays til 2:00…so he was planning on coming down late Saturday evening….well around noon on Saturday we get a call from the guy that he will be at our house by 4:00….so FIL had to scramble to get down here….this story is boring me to type so I imagine it’s not fun to read! Lol feel free to skip to the next paragraph….I am!

So anyways…I straightened the house around Saturday morning (my new semi-neat freak ways have paid off when we are expecting company….I still have a long way to go though because the house would so not pass my mother’s scrutiny! Lol) and then I took off shopping….I didn’t really have any desire to be around when all the tractor stuff was being swapped…lol…

I went to the Dollar General, then to the outlet mall…which was too hot so I couldn’t shop…and then to Wal-mart for groceries…came home…made taco salad for supper and peach cobbler for dessert….oh yeah here’s the recipe…

EASY PEACH COBBLER

INGREDIENTS:
2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
one large can of peaches
2 sticks of butter
2 cups of sugar
1 can of Mountain Dew
cinnamon and nuts (if desired)
Grease a 11’’x9” pan
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Wrap peaches with rolls and lay side by side in a greased pan.
Melt 2 sticks of butter and mix 2 cups of sugar. Blend well. Pour evenly over crescent rolls. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nuts as desired. Pour can of Mt. Dew over mixture. Bake for 45 minutes.

My comments: I have not been able to bring myself to putting 2 TWO CUPS of sugar in this, especially if you get the peaches in any kind of syrup really, so I usually just put one cup of sugar and I pour the syrup over the rolls after I’ve wrapped the peaches. Also, I use the quartered peaches rather than halves. The recipe does not specify.

This weekend when I made it, I used Smart Balance instead of butter or marg., one cup of sugar, and just about a teaspoon of vanilla (I don’t do a lot of measuring lol). It was yum!

So anyway…there’s the basic recipe…play with it…happy cooking! Lol

FIL had a pulled muscle in his neck so he ended up not spending the night after all…bless his heart…you could tell he was uncomfortable…

So Sunday husband got up and changed the oil in my car and his truck….where does he get his energy so early in the morning…and then came in to wake me up to get ready for church…we’ve missed our church so much this month so we figured one more week wouldn’t hurt…husband has been wanting to visit our friend’s church so we decided to do that…it was a sweet service…our friend is such an anointed preacher! We really liked the church…it was a very country friendly God-loving church….I told husband on the way home, that I liked it a lot…not enough to change churches (which wasn’t our intent in visiting there anyway) but if I didn’t have a home church, then I’d definitely consider attending there…

I’m feeling rather disgruntled at our church presently….and I know it is the devil attacking me at my weak point…personality conflicts…and the trouble is really mostly in my set…I just need to get over myself!

But anyway…yesterday afternoon as really too hot to do much of anything…we napped…I watched bits and pieces of a movie called Blow…it was a downer man…Johnny Depp played this guy who got in to dealing cocaine…it definitely wasn’t a feel good movie…

I painted some…I made a necklace…I’m feeling my craftiness coming back….I’ve kind of been in a slump as far as painting and being creative….but I feel all these ideas coming on…so I’m compelled to craft! Lol

Saturday when I went shopping I bought this totally hippy chick skirt…it is very colorful…I wore it to church yesterday morning and husband said I looked like a hippy…I said…good! Lol…it is very comfy and totally my favorite new piece of clothing right now…I’m a nerd! Lol
