Rambling...

So just a brief update on the whole job thing…husband and I had a talk a couple of nights ago, because his anxiety about the whole sitaution just seemed to be escalating, it had to be Wednesday. I told him that it’s January 3. He was very stressed that by January 31 (which is his current company’s last day of the contract with LGE) he wouldn’t have a job. I pointed out that while it might be urgent to him to lock in employment, it was only January 3! Anyways, he seemed to really get what I was saying…although we are both worried…although he’s a lot more worried than I am…I have this peace that’s it’s going to all work out…

Anyways, so yesterday one of the companies (the “PDS” company) arranged an interview time and today his current company made indications that they intend to keep husband on as long as he wants to work there. So options are beginning to open up and we are breathing somewhat easier today…please continue to pray for wisdom guidance and open mindedness…thank you so much!

Umm not really much else happening this week…

There was a Drug Court Graduation this morning. Those are always inspirational. Working at a courthouse, we see a lot human heartache and just really sad pathetic people, not to mention criminal and some are just plain evil. But Drug Court is like this second chance program for people (non-violent charges and mostly substance abuse charges) who would otherwise be locked up…it’s basically dealing with their substance abuse problems rather than throwing them away…this was our third graduation with 4 people graduating this time. I just think it’s such a cool program…but anyway the speaker was a really interesting person who works with ADHD kids. He was also the first black athlete to graduate from UK. I think I could have sat and listened to him tell stories about his life all day! He was a track star and he was actually inducted into the hall of fame the same year that Denny Crum (former coach for U of L) was. Anyway, at one point in his life a long time ago, he actually met, raced, and won against OJ Simpson (long before OJ was more notorious). He said that after he beat OJ, he told him to stick to what he was good at – football…lol! Another story that he told was that he and a few other black athletes were at a track meet in Georgia many years ago and the clan also happened to be marching at that time. He said a lot of people told him that he should probably just bow out of the meet and go home. He told them that he wouldn’t and he ran and won that meet.

The most important thing to me that he said today though was he looked at these people that were graduating, and as Judge said later, she really felt that he was talking to all of us, he told them simply, you are somebody. You are important. The people that love you cannot go out and buy another one of you. You are somebody!

I just thought that was so touching….

Anyways ramble ramble…that was my touchy feely message of the day…lol

Hope eveyone has a blessed weekend!

I'm glad things are beginning to look a little more hopeful on the job outlook. I will continue to pray that more opportunities open up.

How neat that you got to sit in and listen on that! I bet that's a nice change from some of other stuff you see and hear other days!

Glad that your hubby's job is having a silver lining. I know it's scary. We've been there, but God will bring you through.

Sounds like the man that spoke was truly amazing. Glad that you were blessed to hear him!

Lots of Love!
