The Next Adventure

First I must get something out of my system... 43 days until NEW MOON!!! wahoo

::excuse me::

anyway... that's not the next adventure... although I'm very excited about it and there is also talk of making Stephenie's book The Host in to a movie as well.. now granted it has not gotten the following that the Twilight Saga has but it is a pretty great book too and I can totally see it on the big screen...

anyway... hopefully you stuck with me through my Stephenie Meyer ramblings... I think I'm done for now...

And now... for the next adventure... on Monday at 4:00 we go get Austin! And then on Tuesday we'll take him to school and get all registered and all that happiness... talk about new experiences! lol But I'm excited! Austin is a 16 year old boy... really sweet kid... we took him camping with us on Labor Day weekend and we didn't scare him off!

Now let me tell you honestly... I definately am more comfortable with younger kiddos... babies and toddlers and preschoolers... so when we took him for Labor Day weekend, my mind was pretty much shut to the possibility that he would be living with us eventually... however as I got to know him and his story I found myself wondering how in the world I could say no. Believe me, I looked for the excuses, but they just weren't there and by the time we took him back on Tuesday, I knew we'd be seeing him again.

We still miss the girls... and our Prodigal Son, Will, that we had for one week... we're slowly filling our hearts with faces that touch our lives for a moment and then are gone... please keep in your prayers as we start this new adventure. I have a feeling he will be with us for a while and I just hope that we do the right things... we're about to learn a whole new set of parenting skills, nothing like on the job training... any hints, tips, tricks etc for parenting teens that ya'll come across, feel free to pass em along.

ok... Mandy.. I have purchased The Shack and I'm almost finished re-reading a book and then I plan to start it...

umm that's all I have for now... I'm at work and people keep coming in and out of my office so I guess I should see what's going on... lol

toodles!

Welcome to this crazy family, Austin!! :) We really need to add him into the kids Christmas drawing...I could switch a name with you, & take his name, if you want? Let me know... I don't want him to feel left out!! :)

Anyways, WOOHOO!! :)

And, you'll have to share with me all about your thoughts about "The Shack." Reviews among Christians are mixed!! Passionately mixed, I might add...and if I hadn't read a few things over & knew where the author was coming from, I might have a different perspective...

Anyways, woohoo for blogging!! :)
