Why am I a mommy?

Why am I the mommy…

So this morning Matthew, my three year old precious baby boy, and I had this conversation:

Matthew: Yaya are the mommy? (he has actually asked me this a few times this week, but the conversation never went any further)

Me: Do you want me to be the mommy?

Matthew: yes… *pause* Why are you the mommy?

Me: Because you said I could be the mommy.

Matthew: No, but why are you a mommy?

Me: Well I don’t know Matthew. *pause* because God put it in my heart to be a mommy.

In that tiny conversation, where he was probably trying to figure out who is who and what is what, the Lord revealed something very profound to my heart. I am a mommy because He put it in my heart to be a mommy and if I can’t make my own babies by golly He has lead me to other babies who need a mommy just as much as I need to BE a mommy. That was a tiny powerful revelation that shook my heart this morning. I guess the term is an AHA moment.

Wow.

God is good. God is great. And I thank Him for this day. Amen!

K, thanks for making me cry this morning!! That is the sweetest moment ever!! We both had a big day yesterday, because Abbey & I got to talking about her big sister waiting for us in heaven... I think it broadened her vision of heaven & why we want to go there!! :) She has a sister to meet!! :)

Moments like that makes an ordinary day extraordinary, doesn't it? :)
