Happy anniversary!

Today is me and hubbies 15th wedding anniversary! Man, how do time fly! I love my husband and I love our marriage and I love being married. It is not all sunshine and roses all the time but it’s pretty solid and something that you can always count on to be reliable, that bond we have. It’s amazing to me how through the years our relationship has evolved yet stayed the same… does that make sense. We are both growing individuals who aren’t afraid to share our feelings with one another or speak our mind and yet we’ve always sort of had this unspoken understanding of respecting each other’s boundaries. For example, in the heat of an argument, we don’t go off topic and start insulting each other’s mamas…. When we argue and we do argue, lots, we try to stay on point.


Being married is also great because you know that you have someone around who will love you in spite of and sometimes because of your flaws. Jimmie has no filter and most of the time I’m ok with that because my filter is too thick. I admire how he can just say whatever comes to his mind (MOST of the time – there are few times when I think he shouldn’t say everything he thinks!) but he’s very comfortable in his own skin and could care less for the most part what people think of him. I’m the complete opposite. I over-think what people are going to think of me and as a result, I have diagnosed myself as socially awkward. I must say though that age seems to be the cure for that. It really is true that as you get older you grow, well I have anyway, more comfortable in your own skin. I have a long ways to go for sure but I do find myself caring less and less what people are going to think of me.


Well anyway…. Just wanted to give a shout out to my husband of 15 years! Here is to many many more!
