Merry Chirstmas!!

My life is crazy right now but I feel the need to blog…. I’ll make it quick… the holidays are here people!
I have to tell you how much stinking fun we have had with the Elf on the Shelf! It is getting hard to think of funny places to leave the Elf every night but boy oh boy is it fun! Our Elf is named Olivia and she is ornery! She has hung the kids’ underwear on the tree, left us messages in spray snow in the window, taken Cali’s blankie, and Matthew’s Buzz Lightyear, covered all of our pictures with pictures of herself… and very soon she will toilet paper a room of the house. It’s just the right mix of mischief and surprise to be completely our family’s cup of tea! Jimmie has even had a hand in several of the Elf’s pranks. So highly recommend this little tradition…. Lots of fun throughout the holidays!

We have a new addition to our household for a few months probably. Little A is 15 month old blond hair, blue eyed, cutie little girl… she is extremely curious and surprisingly fast and loves to climb! Matthew and Cali are in love but I am being careful to make sure they know that A is only with us temporarily while her mommy is sick and getting well (after all, drug addiction is an illness and she is in recovery). So we say prayers for A’s mommy every night. It is so precious to listen to my children pray for people… makes my heart smile!

Anyway, we picked A up on December 3 and it has just been a whirlwind of activity since then. Our daycare did not have an opening for A so she is at a different daycare in a different direction in the morning so my morning and evening consists of lots of driving and hauling kids… glad we got the Expedition! It is definitely serving its purpose!

The week we got A, we were on an emotional rollercoaster… that was the week grandma had 2 surgeries and I really thought we were going to lose her. It seems she is now on the road to recovery but wow for a little bit there I was praying that we would all be able to come to terms with her loss… then we also found out that the Judge had signed an Order putting us on the doorsteps of adopting our Littles! Yahoo! But talk about up down up down… by Friday of that week I was on meltdown watch….

Last week Jimmie and I were both a little under the weather so we were on auto pilot for the most part…. But Christmas shopping is almost done and I’m sooo soo ready to just relax and enjoy family and friends over the holidays!

Anyway… that is just a snapshot of our lives these days… I need to get some work done… hope everyone has a wonderful wonderful Christmas and a Happy Happy New Year!
