Watching History Unfold.....

So I have to say, that even though the presidential election did not go the way I had hoped or voted, it was truly amazing and awesome to watch history being made last night. President elect Barack Obama is certainly eloquent and presents himself very well. And I have purposed that even though he is not the one I voted for, he will be my president and he is due all the respect that that office deserves (even though for the last 8 years the other side has not acted that way – haha I’m better than them! Lol)

Anyway, I think it was something my sister or Kelley said in a journal entry or comment section… no matter how the election goes… God is in control. That thought has given me so much peace and allowed me to just relish in the purely historical and cultural significance that Mr. Obama’s victory has brought. To watch the faces of the people last night at his acceptance speech and to think of all the people who suffered and fought for this day to come… it really is staggering and I don’t think anyone has realized the full implications of what has happened.

At any rate, although I’m worried for what may come now that our country has swung to the far left, I’m comforted by the thought and the promise that God is in control. I encourage everyone to pray for our new president and the transition that is to come to our White House and to give him all the respect and support that the office of President deserves.

But most of all cling to the promise that God is in control… All things work together for good to them that love the Lord….

I couldn't have said it better myself, Sister. To think of all the people that were alive during the Civil Rights Movement...how they must've felt last night. Truly an amazing thing.

And yes...we serve an AMAZING and POWERFUL God. Let's not forget who is REALLY in control!

Love ya!!!

I'm so glad you have such a positive attitude. Yes, God is in control and how disappointed would He be if we disrespected a person....putting all things aside, Obama is still a person!

Your words are written well, I hope people follow your lead!

Lots of Love!
